It's great to see Weiss and Hickman return to Krynn and the original Heroes of the Lance. This is the first of several (3 maybe) novels set in between the original series.

If you are a fan of Dragonlance, then you will remember that back in the ancient times (1980s) when the modules were released, there was much that took place in the modules written by Weiss and Hickman that did not take place in the novels... or was only hinted at in passing.

This first novel concerns the refugees of Solace trek from Pax Tharkas, and the opening of the gates of Thorbardin. Good stuff that fills in alot of missing material from the original trilogy.

Weiss and Hickman seem to slip right back into the old familiar characters (Raistlin, Tanis, Tass, etc...)

I'm looking forward to the Icewall segment.

Yeah for a new Weiss and Hickman book! I love them. Gonna have to get that for my hubby. Tass is my favorite character.

I gota get my hands on this book. I love the universe, and Weiss and Hickman is my favorite storytellers in it. Heroes of the lance was the book/series which got me into fantacy way back then. Cant thank these two enough for revealing this genre to me.

Tass is also my favorite... I cant count the times ive been in tears from laughing so much at his (mis)adventures.
