Yesterday I was trying to decide how to spend my Christmas bonus. I use it as a treat to myself for staying on budget for the year. If I go over budget because I failed then I use it to get back on budget. This weekend I started hearing a hum in my speakers. I thought about it and I have not replaced them since 1998. That could be the problem. Off to Best Buy. I got a set of these. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=4148283&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01055&id=1051384267922)

When I sold home theater I always loved the sound of the Klipsch speakers and subs. Right out of the box I could see that they were better quality than I was expecting. I got everything wired up and tested it. With a little tweaking of settings it created a sound that is amazing. Great bass, really sharp treble, powerful midrange.

(warning, rated R description)
I best described it as the speakers jumped off my desk onto my shoulders and had sex with my ears. My ears needed a cigarette afterwards.

Knowing how good these sound, they are worth double the retail price. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Sell your car, sell your blood, sell your kids, get these speakers.

I use a somewhat older (almost 2 years now) set of Klipsch ProMedia speakers and I love them...they are every bit the quality bob's R rated description depicts.

My only complaint is the attachment from the actual speaker to the stand is tough to deal with (mine like to get stuck, and I mean really super duper stuck) - but that could be because they are an older model.
