Well picked up the G15 Keyboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=23%2D126%2D179%2D08%2Ejpg%2C23 %2D126%2D179%2D09%2Ejpg%2C23%2D126%2D179%2D04%2Ejp g%2C23%2D126%2D179%2D06%2Ejpg%2C23%2D126%2D179%2D0 7%2Ejpg&CurImage=23%2D126%2D179%2D08%2Ejpg&Description=Logitech+G15+Gaming+Keyboard+%2D+Retai l) from Newegg when it was on sale. I must say I've enjoyed this keyboard very much. The LCD display can either cycle through your computers performance, a clock, a timer/stopwatch, a media monitor(will display songs that you're playing with WMP), and whatever game your playing if it's supported. I currently have it so I press one button and can cycle through the different programs. It also has 2 USB ports on back on either side of the LCD monitor. The backlight feature is also very nice to evening gaming sessions, and it just looks cool.

I think one of the best features is are the 18 G-keys. These keys can be bound to bascially any function that you can think of. Take for instance that you're playing WoW and you want to use a bunch of spells in series from your action bars. Well simply use the MR button, which is the quick marco button, and press the keys in the order and timing that you want. Then press the button that you want to bind these actions to. Now that button can do those multiple actions at once. These buttons also have 3 different settings for each game, so a single game could have the possibility of having 54 actions mapped out from the G-keys.

There are a couple of downsides to this keyboard. One is that the keyboard is very long. At it's widest point it's approximately 22". The other downside, this is only second hand knowledge, that if you've used an ergonomic keyboard this keyboard will be fairly uncomfortable. I haven't had a problem with it, but I've never used a true ergonomic keyboard.

Edit: The keyboard also has a couple features I forgot to intially point out. It has media buttons, these buttons are buttons to control your music. Fast Forward/Next Song, Rewind/Previous Song, Stop, Play, and also a volume control button. It also features a Desktop/Gaming switch, which bascially diasbles the windows button so you don't accidentally minimize your game.

Gratz ont he keyboard man. I got mine about a month ago, and I can safely say it was 65 bucks well spent on my part. I have enjoyed this keyboard ever since I got it. I love the media feature. You didn't mention the fact that you can flip a switch that turns off the Windows key, so now when you go for Ctrl or Alt you won't accendtly hit Windows and minimize the game at a bad time. The only time I ever had a problem was figuring out how to set macros, but once you figure it out its like riding a bike.

It also has a handy mute button for those annoying Vent conversations.

There is also a website you can go to and download new applications for your LCD. One of my all time favorites is a program that lets me type notes that just show up on the LCD. I hit ctrl 2x quickly (this is configurable) and anything I type shows up on the LCD screen. Perfect for the quests where you need to remember names, or which resources you're looking for.

There are tons of programs out there, and even ones that do the same thing as the programs that came with the board but look better graphically. It really is an awesome keyboard.

I recently bought this one, too. I mostly play at night, after the little one goes to sleep, and this keyboard has the best back lighting I've seen yet. Sooo much better than hunting for buttons in the dark. :D

I bought one when it first came out, and ran into a problem in EQ, which was when I ran two instances of the game, and alt tabbed to the other one, it took 5 seconds to switch windows, and I would still get a bit of lag... Disconnect the KB and everything was back to normal... I have NO idea what it was, but I ended up returning it, been thinking of getting another one and tryin it out now that I have a different system not to mention I don't play EQ :>

I got the G15 & G5 when it first came out. These are both exceptional pieces of equipment that I have had minimal amount of problems with. Most keyboards and mice would have broken by now under my grueling disrespect of the keys and cords, but these have held the test.

I have a question about this keyboard. is it relatively easy to switch the mapped buttons on the fly? I find mostly when playing WoW that I would rather have one button to push for my different action bars than holding say control or shift to get my extra bars. I'm curious if I can map different things to those buttons and switch them on the fly based on what is needed. I currently use a merc gaming keyboard from Ideazone but I'm finding it lacking

There's also a Vent app for the LCD that lets you see who is speaking, holy cow is that nice. Lets you really learn to recognize the voices when you join a new guild, without always alt/tab to see who's speaking.

Can you give me a link to where you guys are getting the add-ons? I am wondering if there is one for TS as well.

This is now a built in feature with ventrilo, all you have to do is open the options up and click on the global settings tab and enable g15 support. Hope this helps :)

I plan to purchase a G15 keyboard for Warhammer.

I do not have the link, but there was a developer article saying that the knights will be twisting auras at high levels, which I apparently will leave to my G15 macro. (Screw bard type manual twisting from EQ1)

Tristate - I can assure you that it is true that a person who have been using a true ergonomic keyboard would take about four to six weeks to get used to a standard keyboard, at least it took that long for me once I moved over to laptop. I just wish that the company who makes the G15 would produce an ergonomic G15.

p.s. The class got pulled out because the developers felt that the way it was working, that aura twisting was taking too much of the players attention, so will have to see what kind of fix they have come up for this specific problem.
