I was updating my Gamespot Profile when I noticed a "game collection" section. I added a few games for the hell of it, and realized that Gamespot had a method of tracking the "estimated value" of my collection. Now, there's no information on how this total is calculated, but it piqued my curiosity none the less. So, I dug out my console "game" box, pc game case, and all the MMOG game boxes I have stored neatly on my bookshelf.
I entered the 100+ games (http://www.gamespot.com/users/whearn/games_table?mode=own) I had physical evidence of and checked the estimated value. $4,518.90. And I only have a little over 100 games (110 entered). I can only imagine the estimated value of some of the more hardcore gamers/collectors.

I'm not much of a pack rat when it comes to my games. Until recently, I have always traded them in at EB or Gamestop. With the notable exception of WoW, I have a horribly short attention span when it comes to games. As it becomes more apparent that these companies are harming the game industry more than they are helping it (by pushing the used game trade, and cutting the people who make the games out of the profit as much as they can), I have stopped doing this. It means I can't always afford the newest games as much as I used to, but my collection is slowly growing. Thanks for pointing out this feature!

I haven't bothered to fully update my list, but from what is in there (200 games exactly) it comes out to $9,238. If I bothered to update, I might break $10k.

This is a pretty keen little tool. I came up with 127 games (69 PC) and a value of $5,658.73. That makes for a damn expensive CD casebook that I keep everything stored in.

hm i wonder how much my collection is worth, its taking up one of those big Staples file things, and thats only half...and packed with efficiency in mind.
*edit* eh, never mind, its not a thing you can click on and start adding out of a list....would be much easier x_- you remember things along the way, yeah?
So far i have 41 of my 100+ games and its at 2030 dollars, heres the link...
