Taks and I have been exceedingly lucky to receive gifts and support for the new baby from the GU masses. Cash, Clothes, blankets, DVDs, books, all kind of goodies that really take the edge off when it comes to all the things we still need to buy. Gift deliveries have slowed down since the baby shower, but are not unexpected around the house right now. Which leads me to the following story.
A few days ago we received this crazy Baby Einstein play gym. Attached was the following message:Congratulations on the new addition from all of us at Funcom!
Now, I'm accustomed to kind words passed on from members of various game companies; but, to actually receive a gift for Ashur from a game company was a complete surprise. So, I had to comment about it here... after asking if it was okay that is. Didn't want to put a spotlight on them if they preffered to stay anonymous. They left the decision up to us. So, naturally, I'm inclined to talk about it. I mean, a game company sent my kid a brain-engaging toy. How cool is that? Afterward Taks and I joked that we would stitch game company patches on a onesie when/if we take Ash to gaming conventions etc. Trust me it was just a joke.
Thanks again Funcom and kudos on keeping that word "community" close to heart.
