I heard from my bookstore that he died, leaving his wheel of time series unfinished. Is this true? does anyone know?
Cause if it is, I'm ticked.

Yes, he passed away a little while ago only leaving notes for the final book. They will probably take his notes to finish the series, but will have to be written by someone else.

here's some good info. He passed on Sep 16, 2007

The final book is due to release in 2009. I'd source that... but I don't remember where I read it. It also had the title of the book, which I also do not remember.

Apparently he left SIGNIFICANT amounts of material for the final book.

Edit -
"Brandon Sanderson came to see me for a couple of days this week, and he is as terrific as he sounds in the interview. I am really glad that things have worked out so that he can, and will, complete A MEMORY OF LIGHT. He will do a job that Jim would approve, I believe. And I’ll be working with him throughout the writing. And so will Alan Romanczuk and Maria Simons, who have worked Jim through a number of books, and who are both now completely available for Brandon’s support."

For some reason I was unable to edit my post.

Here's a link to a post (http://www.guforums.com/showthread.php?t=11962) in the Special Forum section that we discussed a few months back. It's got some more info in it.

Yeah, he didn't like die suddenly of a heart attack or aneurysm or anything. He had some sort of blood disorder that was taking him down over time, so he anticipated not being able to finish the series himself, so left behind piles of notes (many dictated from what I heard) and has someone lined up to finish it for him.

He was also cremated I believe. I don't think his wife relished those bikers defiling his grave. Just for her sake, I hope she spread them somewhere or they may wind up kitty litter.
