Star Wars: Jedi Academy

I rented this game and I am having loads o' fun with it. But I'm stuck, in the snow level against that forest walker thing from Return of the Jedi, what do I do? I spent what felt like 15 minutes tossing my saber at it, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated!

Huh, what mutant rancor? Are you talking about KOTOR?

No Jedi Academy , and do you mean the AT-ST in the snow level ?

To kill the mutant rancor :

Lure him onto the conveyor belt at the end of the level, trap him with debris, then turn on the conveyor. Easier said than done, but you CAN NOT KILL him.


To kill the AT-ST :

Lure him to a turret. Turrets are the best way to take them out.

Actually you can kill the beast with weaponry, i killed the rancor in the prison level with my weapons.

In jedi outcast, if you don't have an EMP or explosives, use force push to reflect the AT-ST's missles back at it. You can also use saber throws, but that leaves you open to blasters.
I don't know if that translates over to the Hoth level of jedi academy, but I would think it works the same because jedi academy is basicly a stand alone expansion and not much of a sequel.

Anyways, as for the mutant rancor / prison rancor...

[spoiler:3a50f79c72]The prison rancor can be killed, yes, but a new one is replaced every time you kill it. The mutant rancor, OTOH, cannot be killed, and must be avoided until you can trap it on the conveyor belt. That particular mission alone took me ~3 hours to finish, because I couldn't figure it out.[/spoiler:3a50f79c72]

No need to kill the ATST while it can get you. You have to use force jump to get on some boxes and jump over the little rampart. Then you can kill it from inside the little fort.[/spoiler:27530f5887]

Mutant Rancor level was easy for me, only because I was looking for help with a previous level when I saw an un /sploiler ed walkthrough for it.

Wait till you fight the final boss. Assuming you play it on hard like I do, it may even help to practice online so you learn the best combos for it. *grin*
