View Full Version : Where does the time go?

The Zombie project is officially dragging ass. And it's completely my fault. I mean I could blame it on life, the Kid, bills, whatever but the plain and simple fact is... I'm losing time. Since I stopped doing the live feeds, I've been starting the comics later and later. Most recently I've been getting to bed around 2:30am or so. Then I get up and take care of the kid from around 6am to 8:30am when the nanny comes. It's rare that I nap during the day so that means there's 16 hours for me to work with and somehow that hasn't been enough time to get everything done.

I honestly don't know where the time is going. I haven't really been playing games either. I think maybe there's a time vortex around my desk. You know, the world speeds by while I move in slow motion, or some such. It has nothing to do with it, but I think I'll blame the sprinkler system in the front yard out of spite.

Back on topic...
So, the zombie project. I've written up the first 5 pages and they amuse me without being too cartoony or too serious. Only 17 more pages to go right? Not all of the folks that sponsored full pages have submitted pictures to be made zombies either. I'm not sure how to deal with that exactly. If I draft up all 22 pages and they're not all there, I guess I'll just have to tack on a zombie splash page or something later. **shrugs**

Looking at the need to write 22 pages when you don't even consider yourself a writer is a daunting task by the way. You start writing and break things down into pages and you're either running really long or really short. The problem for me though is I have no idea how to end it. Do I turn it into a sweeping adventure that just isn't finished in 22 pages? Do I try to get the whole story across in 22 pages? Do I turn the whole thing into a zombie stickman comic and giggle my way through trite dialogue? Oh the options.

Well, If you'll excuse me now I'm gonna go watch the kid have a bath. Sure it's more lost time. But, the cooing and splashing soothes me so.

Did I tell you how much of a procrastinator I am? Eh, I'll tell you tomorrow.

I hate to admit it, but as I get older, I swear the time goes faster. There really isn't much I can do but try to plan better and stick to the plan.
