I'm looking at getting a new LCD monitor since my 19" mag died and I'm currently useing a crappy one till my taxes come back.

This is the one I'm currently looking at. (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=SDMHS94P%2fB&Dept=cpu_Displays&CategoryName=cpu_Displays_FlatPanelLCDs_18%22)

It's a sony 19" and has a response time on it of 12ms. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these displays?

I bought a couple of the 15" variety last year. I haven't had a single problem with them and I absolutely love having some desktop space again. I experienced no troubles while doing any web design or gaming. The default resolution of 10x7 is standard for my monitor but depending on your video drivers you can change this (it may not be safe but tweaking is always a "do it at your own risk" mentality anyways) to something more your style. I can imagine the same would hold true for the 19" displays also. It's up to you, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Anyone using a 17" LCD Monitor for gaming? I'm addicted to my 20" Monitor, but the thing is a Beast and I'm wanting to reclaim my desktop space.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good 17" Monitor for gaming? I'm hoping to keep it close to the 300$ range

Take a look at:

and

for fairly recent reviews of 17 and 19 inch LCD screens.

Here's one I bought a couple months ago. I realize it's not in the price range mentioned, but I thought I'd list it anyway. Cause I'm an ass.

I would say that this monitor is orgasmically good. 1600x1200 native resolution, 20", it is freakin beautiful. I always swore that when my old 50 pound monster monitor died, I would replace it with LCD. It cost a pretty penny but damn, it is super sweet for gaming.

In my opinion, LCD is totally the way to go now. So much lighter and less desk space and no loss of performance that I can detect.

While we are whipping it out and bragging, here's mine:

I've got 4 machines hooked up to it through a IOGear KVM. All can use it at 1920x1200.

I'ts a thing of beauty.

My work bought this for me, I certainly couldn't afford it on my own. If I were going to spend money on a monitor this big, I'd go for the Apple 23" one first: http://www.apple.com/displays/.

I'll just quote myself from a thread a while back.

I replaced an NEC 19" CRT with a Sony 19" LCD. I've never ever noticed a ghost, blur or anything remotely like that using it. All my Windows PC does is games. Nothing else. I play tons of games from every Genre and I absolutely love the LCD. btw my LCD says it's 26ms response and yet no ghosts, blurs etc? Sounds like LCD being "bad" is highly exaggerated. We also have tons of LCDs at work and I can't remember a single dead pixel in any of them.
