I have been going over the EQ2 sites I can find, looks like there is still a lack of cloaks happen. I want so bad to see cloaks on characters and sheathed weapons when there not fighting. I dont like the different toons standing around in armor without any weapons about. It looks "A Day in the Life of an EQ Character" ARRRG!!
I think it would be cool for rogues to have hidden weapons but I think sheathed weapons or holstered axes would be so great!

Oh, yeah....just imagine a rogue being able to hide a dagger in his boot! I'd love to be able to do that!!!

I do get tired of seeing my characters holding their weapons all the time......sure, it looks great in combat, but every time I run through a city, I feel as if I'm about to trip and get a spear shoved through my skull. It'd be so nice to be able to sheath my pally's Argent Protector.....she'd look so cool slinging it over her back. (I'll have to do a sketch of that sometime.)

You mean the stuff you put on your cheeks to give them colour?

With armor dyes you could be a Rouge Rogue and confuse everyone.

*giggles* Now, there's an idea! *runs off to buy some armour dye to turn her rogue into a strawberry*

Sheathing weapons was another thing I liked about DAoC.

Didn't someone mention the ability to sheath weapons in the E3 video of EverQuest 2?

I'm sure I've read/seen it somewhere.

Meanwhile, you run around with your weapons actually on your character in FF11. A sword is hanging from your belt, a staff is strapped to your back, etc. :)

Rouge - n.
1. A red or pink cosmetic for coloring the cheeks or lips.
2. A reddish powder, chiefly ferric oxide, used to polish metals or glass.

Rogue - n.
1. An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal.
2. A deliberately dishonest person; a knave; a cheat.

Heh heh. Too easy to confuse.

If anyone watched Trigun it would be cool if they had a gun arm type thing that he did but instead put a dagger into your hand.

I am pretty sure they did say there would be sheathable weapons in EQ II.

However, something makes me want to say that they said there would not be cloaks. Not sure on that one, could be some other game I read about :)

I'm pretty sure they were kidding about the 'rouge'.

Rogue or Rouge, Theif or Thief, backstabbin' wallet-snitchers will be forever misspelled.

It is the bane of my very existence.

But, the sheaths arent visible in the screenshots. I see some toons with weapons and the others without, but no sheathes. I hope your right though.

I would also like to see bows/quivers drawn on the back of a character model as well when not in use. Sadly FFXI doesn't do bows, though they do do hip sheaths for primary weapons. Not having my bow visible all the time somehow makes me feel less deadly. *shrug*

Well after thinking about this....I do not see them doing weapon sheaths...lets face it....warriors carry too many weapons...I would use SWG as a guide to your clothing options.

pfft...Heck with boot hidin spots...Rogues should have spring launchers hidden in their shirts....

Or heck lets go Planescape and have punch daggers!

You can carry all the weapons you want in your pack, but it'd be nice to sheath your primary and secondary when not in combat.

I also had a big 2hand sword on the back of my troll for looks, in DAoC.

know what else, I would like to see an appearance option for older/aging characters. I like the "bent wizard leaning heavily on a staff as air around him seemed to surge with power" look for older casters. IMHO i think it would add some much character.

I know I can't be the only one to have noticed this, but, would someone please look closely at the screenshots? Because what *I* am seeing is a images of characters rendered at incredibly high quality, and in the exact same pose in every single screenshot.

No, seriously, go to Eq2.com (http://www.everquest2.com) and look at the screen shots and tell me I'm wrong. It's scary. They've got a collection of beautiful backgrounds, then they take concept-renderings (why would you even waste the time and money to design a detailed 3d model that won't be used in-game, anyways?) of the 3 or so PCs, and a handful of monsters, stick them in attractive backgrounds, and throw in some lighting effects.

They did the same thing with Shadows of Luclin back when they were talking about upgrading the appearance of character models. Sure, our toons looked better, but I certainly don't have the option of creating that lifelike little gnome, or that anatomically impossible elf so prominantly featured in, er, everything.

How long has EQ2 been in development? Why aren't we being shown actual screenshots of a semi-functional pre-alpha build, instead of a computer artist's interpretation of what videogames will look like in 20 years? This is an almost creepy experience. Are we the only ones being fooled, or is the dev team pulling one over on sony? o.O

all pictures that look like in game shots of EQ2 are actual Screenshots from IN GAME i have seen the game live (fan faire) and the models ARE that good.

That's because they keep stealing the dictionaries :D
