I'm afraid unless Woody enables the html <center> command you're stuck with left justified because the phpbb centering doesnt appear to work.

There is currently no [center] tag for these forums. I could add it, but I don't know if I wanna.
And I'm still debating enabling HTML. The first time someone A HREF'ed and overwrote the forums instead of opening a new window, I'd be quite the angry camper.

I'm certainly no HTML guru, but isn't there a way to set up a page so that all links open in a new window instead of overwriting the current page?

Well with phpBB forums you can enable only certain html tags, so if you don't want links to open in new pages you could just get rid of the <a> tag.
On one of the phpBB boards I'm admin on I only allow <center>, <div>, <hr>, and
. Just to give people a few more options for formating.
I'm not sure if you can tell all links at once to open in a new window, unless you can do it with style sheets, which I've never tried so I don't know.

Well then you'd have a problem - everything would open in a new window, like posting replies and going back to the forum index. There is a nice FAQ explaining BBCode right on this very forum - here (http://forums.gucomics.com/faq.php?mode=bbcode).
I don't really care either way about HTML, but I don't see the point of centering signatures. It hurts my brain to have everything aligned to the left, and then a picture or some text in the middle..

Actually if it is possible using stylesheets then it wouldn't be a problem.
Style sheets allow you to make class based styles. You could create an anchor tag class specifically for in-post links.
But like I said, I don't know if you can specify the target property of the anchor tag within a style sheet, so it may be a moot point anyway.
