Ok, decided that I probably shouldn't make a new thread every time I wanna post something, so all my stuff is going to end up in this thread instead.
First set of doodles, all done in Adobe w/ tablet:
the attack (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/theattack.jpg) --yeah, uh... angsty!
evil panda (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/pandahead.jpg) --someone else's idea, a suggestion.
girlface (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/girlface.jpg) --playing around with coloring and lineart. Sloppy.
More to come. Currently working on a digital painting of a mage without solid line-art, and it's taking forever and a half, but I hope to have it done by sometime next week.

Those are all fantastic! I really really love 'the attack.' I definitely admire your artistic vision and skill. I would love it if you could share any tips you have with me about using a tablet.

Those are really cool! I too, especially like the first one. I can't even make a proper stick figure so I have a lot of respect for those with artistic talent. I'd love to see more :)

...and this is why we don't make Vel angry, boys and girls.
Those are splendid, Vel. "The Attack" is my favorite. Although the "girlface" reminds of really cool art deco style things I've seen (not sure why).

Yeah, I might draw more Qu-on dream-monsters. *waves hands in the air* OooooOOOooo!
Some pencil stuff:
Pea (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/pea.jpg): I don't know why I named her after a vegitable. I didn't plan this picture, so I had to chose a posture that would fit most of her on the paper. I struggle with hands and legs from the knees down. That's why it looks wierd.
The Rose Bride (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/rosebride.jpg): Feeling cheesy. I drew this recently, even though it reflects the style I used to draw with a few years ago. I dunno how to explain it. Thicker but cleaner lines, less realistic?

..can you teach me to draw?

I dunno if I could. I think the best I could do is get you a stack of paper, a bucket of pencils, a small hill of erasers and a model to draw. Then, I would crack the whip your every waking hour to keep you drawing non-stop, then reward your efforts at the end of every day with food and water and a straw pallet to sleep on.
All the good artists suffer, you know.
I love girlface. Its beautiful, Vel. They're all great! I always love it when you post your work.

I'd say on the face especially, makes it look more cartoonie. If you look at your lips for example... the line that separates your lip from the rest of your face is more a blend of color then a line.... well... unless you draw on your lip liner the way I do. :D

Aw, thank you, sweets! That means a lot coming from someone who's artsy skills I admire. <3 And thankee for the tip on the lips.
I fall into the habit of tracing the outlines and filling in the shading later, which gives it that more illustrated, cartoony look. I have this book called "Draw Real Hands!" which I can't stand---the hands don't look real (MISNOMER!)--but there's a whole section of the book devoted to outlining the drawn subject vs. defining the drawn subject via contrasts in shading and doing as little as possible with outlining. I have a minor epiphany every time I re-learn that outlining a subject isn't the only way.
Goldfish have no memory, I guess their lives are much like mine...
[EDIT] Gak that's two posts in a row where I haven't posted anything. Ok, to make up for it --- here's the start of a digital painting I'm working on (http://velenka.digital-panda.net/spirit1.jpg). It's the first one I've ever done, using photoshop, that didn't start with linework, and includes a rampant abuse of the smudge tool. I can't wait until I can get Painter....I hear it's much easier than photoshop...so far I just have a floating head and a grey stone wall in the background, which I left out.

Those hands are realistic enough for me, I can't draw them, so you will always see my characters in chainmail, leather, or the like.
Actually I saw a Mythbuster episode where they prooved that they did infact have a memory.
... Rosebride makes me feel weird.
