Here is where we will post our Character bio's and talk about plots, and other stuff related to the Star Figher Thread.

BIO:
Name: Jack Orlando
Race: Human
Class: Pirate Captain
Appearence: Taking a shot in the face early in his career, he took to wearing a black helmet with a sunglasses like visor over his eyes, and a mask over the rest of his face. He wears a White dress shirt, with a black vest and black leather gloves.

He wields a laser pistol at his side and a laser sword on the other. Skilled in both, he has earned the respect of his crew through ruthlessness and his command.

His Ship: The Black Arrow, A Frigate Class ship. A hold consisting of 12 battle-speeders, and a crew of fifty men. A boarding walk allows him to board enemy ships and get his bounty without having to travel through space. A long Black ship, shaped like a spear head, with three fins in the rear, the middle contains the bridge, the other two contain the ships thrusters. It is armed with 12 cannons, six on each side. The Red Falcon on either side of the thruster fins is said to strike fear into the hearts of merchant vessels, although she is not the best pirating ship in the galaxy.

Well he said they're like Zerg, and Zerg are basically Tyranids. Tyranids operate somewhat like an ant colony. The biggest ones are the only ones capable of independent thought, and the rest are just kind of led around by the hive mind as it's called in Starcraft. Maybe Rookie has other plans though but I just assumed. It's kind of why I wanted to do a Warhammer 40k RPT.

Yeah, its like that. If you've never played Starcraft, the Zerg basically operate from a hive which is ruled by an Overmind. But in this case they're ruled by a giant queen.

These critters are a bit more menacing looking, more insect like. Think of a cross between Starship Troopers bugs and Zerg.

They move in organized little groups, rarely alone. Usually Barglings and Acid-spitters as the HUA calls them, but sometimes the large Barg-Brutes (think Ultralisk) accompany them. There smaller flies called Barg-Crows, often commit suicide on space-craft, but rarely works with recent innovations.

The queens hive has been assaulted several times, but has never succeded, even a direct nukelear blast failed to bring down the hive, it appeared to only make the aliens stronger.

That answer your question? Since the Queen does not have complete control over the troops, she sometimes places other Bargs, such as Acid-spitters or other larger Bargs in command of smaller groups, like captains of the barg world.

Okay, time to roll a bio.

Technical Information:

Product Number: EAD001000 "F.U.B.A.R. Meaty"
Product Type: Experimental Assault Droid
Primary Function: Extermination of Barg
Secondary Functions: Colletion of Data
Appearance: Bipedal made of an alloy that allows minimal weight for maximum durability. Two optical cameras, mcuh like human eyes, though more efficient, with a red covering, allowing several modes of vision. Two experimental miniature plasma cannons that are mounted between the shoulder and neck, about four inches long and one inch wide and tall. The commanding officer has given him a hat, for comical or sentimental reasons. Holds an obisidian color and a shiny luster.
Equipment: Two shoulder mounted plasma cannons that shoot forth a large beam of plasma that has been measured up to 4000 degrees celsius. The alloy EAD001000 us constructed of is unable to withstand the heat, and is solely meant as a last resort. EAD001000 has been programmed to use every weapon that is known to the military forces.
Behavioral Scruples: Seems to be bloodlusting,and enjoys combat. Holds his own in melee fights with his durabilty, rather than speed. After decapitating targets in the range, or elsewhere when legal, he replies to any Human spectating, "F.U.B.A.R., Meaty." earning him a small reputation.
Doesn't not view organisms as lesser, but holds an ego.

Kork, here's my thoughts on the hunt:

You'll get a tip off from a local about a ship fitting the Black Arrows description, then you'll recieve word of a merchant ship being attacked, and then recieve word i'm on another planet, and just as i'm pulling out, your pulling in, then your ship pulls a U-ey, and we engage in a fast and furious space fight, but i manage to land a hit that temporarily knocks out your power, but give me just enough time to kick in the lightspeed and get the hell out of there, and the chase continues.

Class: Human Marine(Rifleman)
Appearance: Young, only 21. Short spiky brown hair. Average build. Wears light camoflage fatigues, and standard issue marine armor(Similar toThis (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/747/747891/img_2800045.html))
Also carries a human assault rifle, pistol, combat knife, and several grenades.

No ship of his own. Goes where the army takes him. He's currently fighting on a Barg ravaged planet trying to defend one of the last standing human outposts. He's scared as hell to be there but still fights on because he knows he'll die otherwise. That's how he made corporal in his first year and is on his way to seargent.

Name: Carla Jenson.

Age: 19

Apperance: Short cropped light brown curly hair. Heavish built, but still in shape.

Occupation: Cook and med officer for the Black Arrow.

weapons: Dual laser pistols and a long wickedly jagged knife.

Background: Ran into Jack when she was 15, after he raided th ship she was hiding on. He took her in finding out he was a decent cook, so long is you did ask for too many alien dishes. Bright smile, very cheerful.

Name: Knith Gintle

Race: Human

Occupation: leader of a freelance group of mercs known as "Silent Knives"

Appearance: Brown eyes, yet wears a blue contact in his right eye as a scare tactic. Brown hair, short, typical guy cut. He wears normal, everyday T-shirts, over which he dons a black leather vest made of premium quality hide. Wears black sunglasses a lot, even when unneccesary. Typical jeans, often dark blue in color, though he owns a couple of black pairs. Wears a metal bracer on his left wrist which is actually a surrounding laser shield projector.

Weapons:

a laser rifle slung across his back, typical make, nothing special about it

A laser pistol with a scope and red laser marker (you know, those laser pointer things) attached. This weapon has had a few modifications in order to optimize its usefulness.

A laser sword of medieval design, which is held by a clip at his left hip. This too has had a few upgrades, improving duability and the overall strength of the blade it produces.

Ship: a Clipper known as the Depression, fairly tough vessel. Holds a pair of Battle Speeders, nicknamed by the group as Bert and Ernie, which also are the typical ship type, though they hold more than the standard number of rockets, and often carry upgraded versions when the Silent Knives can get their hands on them. Depression is painted a deep, deep purple color, while the twin Battle Speeders, Bert and Ernie, are red and blue, respectively.

Ship supplies: The Depression carries a suit of light battle armor for each member of the crew, save Joel and Rushty, who wear heavy armor due to their weapons of choice. Also, the combat droid wears no armor, being a mechanical unit and having plating built in. Ther are also weapons of choice for each member of the crew, as well as a few backups (misc weapons: normal swords, pistols, some grenades, etc.)

The crew:

Seth, second-in-command of the Slient Knives. Wields a pair of laser pistols, a stun baton, and carries two frag grenades and one concussion grenade whenever he heads into battle. Levelheaded and quick-thinking, he is a close match to Knith himself, one of the primary factors in his becoming second-in-command.

Joel, heavy combat unit of the Silent Knives. Wears heavy combat armor and uses a rocket launcher and heavy machine gun with explosive rounds as his two tools of choice. Acts slightly bloodthirsty at times; however he merely loves his line of work.

Rushty, heavy combat unit, Wears heavy combat armor but instead utilizes a large battleblade (normal, not laser), preferring to engage his enemies up close and personal. Doesn't talk a whole lot, prefers action to words. Deeply respects Knith for his incredible leadership skills, but doens't make it known.

Timothy, aka Gadget, grenadier/mine layer/disabler. Although he carries a standard laser pistol for self-defense purposes, his primary weapons are his large variety of mines and grenades he keeps holed up in his quarters. He always goes into battle a walking bomb, with bands of grenades looped around his chest and mines strapped to his belt. He has also developed quite the reaction time and dexterity to the extent that he is able to acitvate a mine and fling it at and opponent before it detonates in his hands from contact, adhering the mine to the victim's armor of clothing, allowing one of his teammates to detonate it via an attack. Normally a calm individual, he gets a tad bonkers when the team uncovers a stash of mines or grenades, or the components to create them.

Karen Suchani (ch makes a k sound), stealth melee unit, uses a pair of laser blades as her weaponry, as well as a matching set of short stunning batons she uses to neutralize bounties or troublesome foes. Very covert and stealthly, good at breakimg and entering or, as she calls it, "window shopping." Very loud and outspoken with the rest of the team, and often gets into arguments with Joel due to their conflicting views. Also is the only member of the team besides Knith himself to use a laser deflecting frontal shield, which helps when dealing with distanced enemies.

Model 1984-CGI, self named Despair, humanoid combat robot, capable of wielding any light or medium weapons available for use. Has a serious attitude problem, and only takes orders directly from Knith's own mouth. Also has a grenade launcher integrated into its chest, which Gadget makes sure is always kept stocked, though it can only hold six at any given time. Has slightly better attributes than a typical male human of 35, save its stength, which is capable enough to enable it to lift up to 200 pounds unnassisted. Its arms are painted black, while the rest of its body is a deep shade of green. It sports red, slitted eyes, and being unable to change its facial expression, always looks as if it is about to kill you where you stand.

A pair of work droids, used to simply run the ship and make repairs. No talking feature, and only understand direct commands.

OOC: still not done btw, still need to add specifics on the ships.

Name: Ezekiel Jones
Appearance: Stands at 7' 3", weaighs 300 lbs and has a long black beard and a huge muscled chest, with arms that could snap a man's neck with barely a twitch.

Age: 44

Equipment: Carries a high-powered shotgun, able to blow a hole the size of his huge fists through a Barg's chest, two SMG's, and a laser sword strapped to his left hip. Wears a skullcap and combat jacket, and a hidden blade in each boot that comes out when he strikes the heel against something.

Description: Although not easily angered if you harm or insult his family or friends he will quickly leap to their aid. Once you earn the trust of Ezekiel Jones you earn a great friend ally for life. He does not discriminate against people and has been known to have a few pirate friends. He abhorres killing and does it only when nessasary.


Name: Gabriel Dastrios

Age: 38

Appearance: Stands at 7' 0" is actually a cyborg. He had his left arm torn off and his left eye gouged out by a fierce Barg warrior. Wears heavy combat armor.

Equipment: High-powered rifle without scope, his left eye had been replaced by a robotic eye that could zoom in for the same effect of a scope. Two laser pistols strapped on each hip and a small knife, used for throwing, strapped to his right heel.

Description: He keeps his emotions in check and usually shows little emotion. When confronted with insults he likes to humiliate the person to teach them some humility and has many enemies. He does not enjoy killing but does it when nessesary. Not much is known about this mysterious cyborg who was born on one of the moons of Kelgron that had been destroyed many years ago.

I hate it when i dont know whos chars are on what ship, or when my troops are stuck in a bar and get taken down... or when those crew members are the only ones i got and i lose three and it looks like a homicidal robot wants to kill some more when i didnt even want to deal with it!

We usually just try and make eachother group up. Like, currently, I'm shooting up Rookie's ship from the inside out, and Korky is homing in.

You can just tell something is gonna go wrong there.

But if i teamed up with Kork he'd probably try to knee-cap me or something.

Here's my idea for getting (most) of us together. A giant Barg army uprises and the HUA calls for a truce from Jack because they need his help to fight the Barg swarm. Use the Black Arrow as a transport ship and good cool stuff like that. And the HUA re-programs Gondi's deal so he's nice to people. Jack treats Martin like a gentleman and they go off together to kick some alien butt.

So, anyway.

The plan is: We go to me pre-designated trenches. We drop Gondi's char off and he starts blowing the crap out of Barg. And the Black Arrow will make a couple runs across the strip where the dropships will land and clear it with its cannons.

On the third run, the ships will be sent out at intervals with Korks Character and the troops and the ground fight will begin. My chars ship will sweep around, help out here and there, the smaller battle-speeders will deploy then Jack will join the ground fight.

Well, I figured the reason it did poorly was due to almost everyone being in two threads at once prior to Star Fighters' arrival. I could be wrong, though.

As for the swords and magic category, I had an idea for a sort of "alternate universe-mini-what if" version of teh RPT: The Graphanine Wars. Basically it would be the same exact thing we experienced, with one change: Vergil, Dune, and everyone would have never come, leaving the events on the continent to work themselves out. Our chars would be from the dfferent races present on the continent, and the war would commence. Basically, it's a PvP RPT with an end (the end being the end of the war) that would pit us against each other more often. However, with two successful threads already booming, I doubt it would receive much traffic. Just thought I'd mention it :)

Oh, and I haven't been around due to this annoying little message on my screen that keeps saying "Firefox has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Posting from the college atm, so I'll just have to see what happens. I've sent two error reports, but nuthin :?

I concur. Not enough people look down here in our little niche of the world so we'd have to go what the few people would want to do.

But the Baldaris thread has probably been going so well because its so easy for it to move along. Inspiration comes easy and we don't have a problem fast-forwarding it a bit. Unbounded by reality pretty much. Also it was the first, first traffic came there so its more familiar. Plus, who doesn't love a surly Warder?
