No real reason I'm posting this, just simply posting to vent. Tomorrow we are getting new windows installed. Not by our choice, the offices below us are renovating so they decided the whole placed needed new windows. So you're thinking cool, new windows...WRONG!!! This place is relying on all volunteers for the entire project, save for the windows part. And for some reason the people who are doing the windows...aren't gonna put on the drywallings for them. Someone else is going to be doing that later...and during our family time. Which is annoying, cause everytime we come home we get to hear the delightful sounds of hammer, air compressors, and saws. The best part is, we get to move our furniture around about 10 times too. The window people are coming in tomorrow, then at an undisclosed date, the drywaller will be putting up the drywall. Oh, and when I say undisclosed, I mean that no body knows when he is doing it. He's already put in 50+ hrs on top of his full-time construction job. The owner of the business has yet to put fourth any effort, but he did chop down some tree limbs  So after we probably get all our stuff in order, it will be time to remove it once again, then shortly after that the trim person will enter and ask for the removal of our furniture. Oh and I have put fourth about 20 hours into helping with this renovation, and I haven't been thanked for any of it...I dunno, I guess it just makes me angry when leaders like this don't do anything but tell people what they screwed up on...bah...rant off, sleep time is now cause I have to get up early so I can move my bed away from the window...fun times.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *ahem* Sorry....

I guess it depends on what kind of house you get....We've been working on ours for almost a year, and it's still not done.
Now, maybe if you built or bought a new house...

Well I'm still in school or we would. We are currently renting from the cheapest and nicest place next to campus. I currently have a 2 min walk to my classes. For all the headache that we get now, it is still worth it.

what I mean is that you don't have to deal with other people doing weird things to your domicile, that's all your job :D

Home owning is no guarantee weird people won't do bad things to your home. When they were laying in a major water pipe upgrade on our street in front of our house the holes were blasted twelve feet deep and, twice, the gas line to our house was broken.

We had several months of horrible days full of drilling and blasting and general construction noise augmented by them tearing up our sidewalk to our front door when they uncovered the break and had to fix it, also leading to a few emergency trips inside on their part and outside on ours.

Bah to construction projects all around!
