Now, I don't really want this to turn into a religious discussion (I'll drop it like a hot rock if it does, lol) but I wanted to say a few things in general about this movie.

It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I thought I would have the bejeebers scared out of me and have nightmares for the next week at the very least. Now, it was kinda creepy and all and there was certainly some supernatural parts to the story. But mostly it was about the court case against the priest (Tom Wilkinson of The Full Monty, he did a great job). And there was all the strange little things happening to people involved with the case, particularly the defense attorney. Only a part of the movie was all the creepy possessed stuff.

Anyway, it was better done than I thought it would be. And a little different from what I'd expected as well, which I always appreciate.

On a side note though: Damn my exact inner alarm clock. There was an evil significance placed on 3am in the story... so wouldn't you guess it! My damn brain makes me open my eyes at 2:58am *sigh* LOL And the wind was whistling all around outside and well, let's just say I have an active imagination and thank all the gods for my bf *hide*

Anyone else see this?

Well thats very blunt, care to be a little more specific?

I actually enjoyed it me and my girl went and we had a great time, I liked the whole "3am" thing they had going, the exorsism itself was a fun scene to watch.

Not the best but I liked it.

Almost half of it was boring courtroom talk. Not to mention the fact that everything was predictible.

(I screwed up the quote thing but I am to lazy to fix it, sorry)

So I JUST got back from seeing this...and well...hmmm, my thoughts. Oh, and please, no making fun of me, seriously. This is one of those things that I don't normally share, but well, helps explain my opinion on the movie.

So, the movie...hands down one of the scariest, more frightening movies I have ever seen. I even started crying in the movie theater, and once, whether ya believe me or not, started reciting the Lord's Prayer to myself........Now, let me set this straight here....the movie in it's self was not scary. The effects, while cool, were not scary at all.

HOWEVER....relgious movies, books, shows, anything hit a spot in me that I keep VERY well guarded, and when I see something that......raw, it scares me to the core of my being. I mean honestly, I am a tough guy, I know I can handle a lot, but God? The Devil? good, evil....these are things no mortal mind was meant to every fully understand, let alone fight. How can I ever defend myself from such awsome beings? That is what scares me....the feeling of utter helplessness....and the fear of what if.....what if when I leave this world, there IS someone waiting for me, be it good or evil.....

All in all though, despite my terror, it is still one of the BEST told movies, best ACTED movies, and best written movies I have ever seen. Will I see it again? No, not if I live to be 100 will I ever watch it again, kinda like Stigmata, but....go see it. I recommend it to all.

cheers!

Hmm seems i read in these forums about that movie. Was based on someone who's name i can't recall right now but the gist of it was her parents were real religous people who wouldn't let her be operated on even though the doctors found a brain tumor or something that had the affects of posession. Meh to tired to do a search on it for linky

I really liked the movie. I knew going in I was not going to be scared. The original Exorcism movie was not scary. It's the psychological / philosophical aspects of these movies that get me going.
