Sadly my digital camera all but crapped out so I had to take these with my webcam...

But those who play Warhammer 40'000, or just paint the miniatures as I've seen mentioned might appreciate these.

The Chaos Lord and Greater Demon I finished recently, a 40k and a fantasy...

40k one (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/010905.jpg)
40k two (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/010914.jpg)
40k three (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/010950.jpg)
40k four (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/011150.jpg)

Fantasy one (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/011105.jpg)
Fantasy two (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/011044.jpg)
Fantasy three (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/011118.jpg)

I am quite open to constructive criticism as I am still learning with paints, but am terribly sorry for the picture quality...

Did you convert those yourself? They're pretty badass.

nice even thou the chaos lord was hard to see I did like what I was able to make out.

Even thou my tyranids would devour him and your army with no trouble :)
( and if your ever in the pittsburgh area I'll be glad to prove it hahaha)

wish I had a webcam god enough to even take a still as good as that I show you one of my badasses lol. But it looks like you did a great job on the paint job and converting it. like to see more.

Aye, I did make those myself. The 40k lord was a Penitent Engine, a demon prince and a lot of green stuff with some chaos spiky bits. the fantasy was a bloodthirster body, dragon wings, minotaur arms, a Dark Reaper troll's head and some assorted undead bits for the horns. Also a lot of green stuff. :D

Oh and I've no doubt Wicca, I've never played against tyranids so it would be interesting to see!

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Alakandrius we all have those models that we hope never see the light of day. I for one learned the valuable lession of NEVER use a paint spray can from a hardware store to put on the first layer of paint.
And if you ever hope of living with someone, anyone, try and keep your addiction to a minimum lol. I collect four WH40K armies, and one WHF army. I have my own table that can breakdown so I can lean it up on a wall. since I live in a apartment I dont have much floor space. needless to say my apartment has been over runned by my hobby, it also doesn't help that there is a home depot right down the street from me hehehe. On many an occation my apartment has been colored pink from cutting and sanding sheet foam lol.

Those are very cool, I just wish I could see them better. I've been trying to figure out how to keep my fairies wings from falling off. I've tried using super glue but that doesnt work so well on joints with very little surface to stick together. I've thought about soldering it, but I've never used a soldering iron before. What do you use to stick your parts together?

Alakandrius

Ooh I've made the mistake of hardware store spray paint... took all the detail out of the figures...

And to answer Tati's question- I used Epoxy putty, or the games-workshop "green stuff". Usually if I can't get super glue to work I put a small ball of it in the joint, you can use the tip of an exacto knife to remove the excess that gets pushed out from putting the wing in. You'll have to make sure you have something to prop it up against though.... The putty is really sturdy, just takes longer to dry.

Aww... hardware spary paint isnt that bad. Its what i used for my Salamanders... and my Orks.... and my IG.... and my Dark Eldar....and...the Demonhunters....
The IG look terrible (I used conscripts! I didn't have time to care!) But the Salamanders make me cry at how they look. (They used to be Red Talons!) Ack! I mean they look good.... almost placed in a Golden Demon...(heh)

honestly the only hardware store spraycan paint that I use is the grey primer. Its alot cheaper then GW's and does the same thing. I was wondering if you use GW's paints or use other brands. Myself I use acrilic paint that I get from an art store. Has the same effect on the model but I get a large tub for the same cost as the small cup you get from GW.

Alakandrius

I use a mix of both actually. Since most of the GW colors are easily doubled by acrylics, I usually go for GW with the ink and metalic colors. As for spraypaint, it's not GW, but I'm not sure the brand.. (I don't buy it, my father and I both paint.)

I had a horrific experience when he accidenly got an outdoor brand Red spraypaint... took all the detail off of my Chaos Marines. We mostly either use white or black primer, although I occasionally splurge on the GW Dark Angels Green spray paint for the sake of ease. I hate hand painting tanks and such.

Speaking of which. This is why Orks hate me. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/heavysupport.jpg)

nice land raiders there. how a bout a couple of close-ups of them? wouldn't mind seeing some of your detailing.
how do you all feel about useing the decals? I dont use them myself mainly because I like to customize my armies and the decals just dont fit with the armies background. So I'm stuck with painting mine by hand. Of cource tyrinds dont have symboles help but my SM's have a very unique company setup.

I just never got the trick of decals so I don't worry about them... I've tried drawing their symbols on with fine wooden skewer tips. Worked well for the Deathwatch squad.

Finally got some better pictures!

Those are awesome! I have the same minotaur figure you have. Its neat to see how different the figures come out even though they started out the same. Your were-tiger made me laugh because its a bad angle. I kinda looked at it and thought.. Is he ... puking? I can see now thats actually his arm. :) I think the pit demon is my favorite of what you have posted.

I thought I would share this (http://julirama.homestead.com/files/DnD/Dsc00035.jpg) picture with you. Our cat sometimes makes it hard for us to play...

Alakandrius
02-13-2006, 03:21 PM
The cat looks more then content to help the Skaven though! We once had a family friend's Maine Coon (those gigantic cats) decide the box of eldar was his new resting spot. The 4 team battle had many a broken Guardians.

Looking at it a second time... the were-shark does look like he's hwarfing.. Better angle (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/Good%20miniature%20pics/goodpics0009.jpg)

And now for a couple more pics
Not as good of quality (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/Good%20miniature%20pics/goodpics0021.jpg)
Different angle of Minotaur (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/Good%20miniature%20pics/goodpics0016.jpg)
I'm curious to see your minotaur as well Tati :D

Minotaur 1 (http://julirama.homestead.com/files/DnD/Minotaur_001.jpg)
Minotaur 2 (http://julirama.homestead.com/files/DnD/Minotaur_002.jpg)
Minotaur 3 (http://julirama.homestead.com/files/DnD/Minotaur_003.jpg)

The first one has flash, the other two don't. Keep in mind that this was one of the first miniatures I painted. He was "safe"... no extra details or blood or anything dynamic.

I like the color scheme. Come up with a hive fleet title for them?

I won't be able to keep up here much... my computer with the camera, pictures, etc, completely bit it.

But, I am attempting a shot at my own webcomic Here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/strip1.jpg)

Was in the process of making a second and the comp died :(

nice comic there. Have you looked at "Turn signals on a landraider" ?
I like how your useing your models in the comic.

As for the name for the hive fleet I concider it to be one of the splinter fleets from whats left of Hive Fleet Leviathan.

Just some new Randoms (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Mordreas/necromundagroup.jpg)

The Serephim isn't mine. And pardon the backround, my desk was too cluttered for the white-box.

I do plan on more of the comics but I'm still attempting to learn my new photo program.

That Terminator Chaplain looks good, I like the white-tan color blend on the front.

It looks alot better than mine. :(

I dig that chaos lord.

I used to play warhammer fantasy... Empire. My tactics usually consisted of finding the largest hill that happened to be sitting on the table, pile as many cannons, mortars, and handgunners on it as humanely possible, then put big piles of greatswords, flagellants and spearmen in front of that. Oh, and of course, my lord choice was pretty much always a level 4 fire wizard. Backed up by two level 2 heaven and light wizards.

Making stuff go boom was my hobby.
