Road to Perdition came out in 2002, at the time I wasn't old enough to go and see it in theatres, yet a few years later when flipping through channels, the description of this caught my eye.

Set back in 1931, this film is about a man named Michael Sullivan, played by Tom Hanks, who seems like your everyday father back then. Two sons, a loving wife, and a nice home. Yet the real twist is that he is a hitman for the crime boss in town, John Rooney, played by Paul Newman.

The movie picks up when Michael Sullivan's son, Michael Jr., witnesses what his father does for a living. Tragedy strikes the family and Michael Sr. and Michael Jr. head out for revenge.

There is much more to the story, but I am afraid to give out spoilers, heres a link to the trailer if you like.

I really enjoyed this movie alot, mostly because it reminds me of my relationship with my real father, (No hes not a hitman...well at least I think he isn't) just the convorsations Michael Sr. and Jr. have together are close to ones I would have with my dad. I also love movies based on revenge and crime based dramas.

Overall, 8/10

I loved this movie also. Great acting, and I've always been a fan of Jude Law, as well as Tom Hanks :)

Yep a good movie.
I just get annoyed that he got killed at the end.

I'd have to give it a 9/10 as well. I mean, it deserves a 10/10 but I can't give that :D. I love Tom Hanks as an actor he really makes you believe that he is the character.

Crazy twist at the end though, I don't want to give it away but Bulldog already did :D.

I just like the clever wording of the name.....Perdition is actually a term for hell...so Road to Hell.....lil bit of foreshadowing there.

Yea same here, the title has two meanings, one is obviously what Keaolien pointed out and the second is because Perdition is the name of the town that the house on the beach is in. Yet the town name is only mentioned once.
