Ok, SEE THIS MOVIE. There are very few movies that I feel this strongly that everyone needs to see, and this is one of them.

Okay, for a little more information, do not go into this film expecting a major action movie. This is more social and political commentary than anything. Now IMHO this is a very well done movie with a good caste of actors and a good plot with some nice twist and turns and good pacing. NowI have to give credit to Weaving for pulling this off considering the difficulty of portraying a man in a mask.
If your up for a good film, with some political commentary, and a couple of action scenes sprinkled in for good measure, check out 'V for Vendetta'

I really wanted to check it out this weekend, but St. Patrick's Day had other plans for me. Most people have said it was a good movie though, will check it out this week.

I admit, I went in there expect more action than anything.
There was action, but that isn't the reason this movie was great. The commentary about what we, the people, have let happen to our nations is simply amazing and straightforward. It's definitely a vision of what could happen.
I think this movie was a 9/10. Not for everyone, granted, there were some teenagers complaining afterwards about 'not enough action', but anybody who wants a thought stirring movie, will love it.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November.

I want an MP3 of the V Word monologue from the beginning. That was when I knew that I was hooked.

"Remember remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. For I know no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot."
Hands down best flick I have seen in a long time..I saw it on Saturday and Sunday. Very well done. True not alot of action..but thats not what sells the movie.

I have been very, very worried about this film, for a couple of reasons. 1- it came from a socially concious comic book. Such things aren't known for their great translations. 2- There were numerous reports of, er, problems, early on in shooting- such as a main character being entirely replaced.
But, still, I wanted to see it. And now I want to see it MORE, dagnabit. The weekend must hurry!

Just got back from seeing this and I must say, I still have that slightly dazed look/feeling that only really great movies give me. Wow. Natalie Portman is amazing.
I will indeed remember the 5th of November.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. Look how well it turned out when they replaced Stuart Townsend with Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn early in the shooting of "Lord of the Rings."

This is V's introduction to Evey.
Although it doesn't really spoil anything in the movie, I'm spoiler tagging it :-)
Voilą! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-ą-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

How very true. And now that I have seen it, I have but two things to say. Hell yes, and hell yes.
'Twas bloody marvellous. The story, mostly intact from the Graphic Novel with a few changes - and good changes - and some absolutely fantastic performances from everyone involved.

The movie had me up until the end. Without spoiling anything, I just want to say that everything was well done but the end was just cheesy in my opinion.

I quite liked it. Started a bit slow, but turned out quite well. It constantly kept balancing between being plain silly and being pretty cool.

I had shivers at the "Dominoes" sequence
Man that sequence was so emotional, and scary
I really enjoyed this one, it's going in the DVD collection.

I agree, the domino sequence was the best scene in the film. Very cool.
Been to see this twice now, bloody excellent film, really loved the extremes the world got to and the vision it created.
I thought all the roles were very well acted aswell, with Hugo Weaving putting across soooo much emotion for a man who never shows his face and has a mask with a permanent grin.
Overall, I'd say easily a 9/10 and one to add to the "must get the dvd" list
