WHOOPS! Wrong sharks! (12/4)

In the Test release notes for version 1.67 (http://www.camelotherald.com/more/1239.shtml) Sanya let us know the "New shark routes had been added to Atlantis". (Note: this is currently Pendragon only)

For those of you that don't know, sharks take the place of horses as the primary mode of transportation in Atlantis Water zones. Which lead to previous comics (http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.php?cdate=20031030) of course.

But, as soon as I read that notice, I thought to myself... if I didn't know where the new shark "stables" were, and just saw some random sharks in game, what would happen if I just threw myself amongst the sharks in order to acquire a ride.

Well, of course, sharks being sharks, they would eat me. Thus the comic was born. We simply have to test the sharks first. I call it Luri-bait. **nods**

I'm sure it will be an effective method of testing shark intentions.

Huh. What keeps the ridable sharks from devouring those who ride upon them to begin with, anyways? Are they vegan sharks? Though.. if that's the case.. wouldn't they eat the tree people?

ROFL....poor little Luris get no respect. They also made it so that when druids cast summon pet underwater we get sharks for pets. And of course, there are shark mobs as well. Gonna get confusing with all the sharks running around.

Just wondering, but why didn't they make water transport dolphins instead of sharks? Not only are dolphins cooler, more intelligent and fun, you also wouldn't mistake it for something that would take your leg off when dipping your toe in the water. Maybe even whales, I mean humans ride them in reality (Seaworld :)) :D

Honestly Rideing sharks is cooler then Flipper. Plus, It makes for all sorts of amuseing stories like said above comic! :-)

Ya, Things on ToA have been getting kind of funky lately. First you had to take boats everywhere and rideing sharks was a quest only thing. Then, people moaned enough and Mythic finaly put in instant teleporters between the towns. O_O And now they want to put in Shark routes! Now I really have a hard time understanding why anyone would ever use the boats anymore. Which is good since those damn boats where a pain in the #*#(*. I hate them. Bad design, bad design, no cookie.

Well after going link dead on boats in the middle of the ocean numerous times and then having to swim through two zones just to get killed by sharks, I think I'll stick to teleporters :)

I think that Boats are still ok..the sharks will be fine too...

They are great when you the route they take will drop you right near the loc of your quest...
