hi, ive been thinking about getting a gamecube, but the only game i want for it is Naruto: clash of ninja. I'm a fan of the show (japanese version WAY better than american) but i dont know if it'd be worth it for just one game that may or not may be good, what do yall think?
i think i just put this in the wrong forum :p

I heard the game wasnt that good, so I wouldnt waste it. I'm not that fond of Gamecube except for Super Smash Bros Melee, which I love. Besides that, most of the good games are for other, better consoles hehe.

Well, I'll admit up front that I'm strongly biased in this area as the GameCube is my favorite game system. (despite my favorite games being on other systems) It's largely to do with my love of the GameCube controllers. They make my hands happy.
And, there are plenty of great games for the GameCube. Resident Evil 4 being one of them. Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. being two others.
When I found out my business guy didn't own any consoles... I sent him a GameCube wit Super Smash Bros. and the Namco Museum.

Yeah, if you check Amazon, you'll find a couple of different bundles. Usually Mario Kart, Mario Party, or Super Smash Bros.

I don't really know much about Naruto, but from Gamespot's review, it looks only so-so (6.3/10). But it does look like Naruto games are being made for other systems, including PS2.
The Gamecube is still a good system, in my opinion. So, even if you do decide to buy it for Naruto, and it turns out you don't like it, there are still plenty of other good games for it.

Plus a used gamecube costs like $40 right now. Right? Super cheap?

Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Two good reasons to buy a Gamecube. I loves me some Metroid!!! :D
Oh, and don't forget good ol' Mario. The games may be silly, but that's part of the fun! Oh yeah...and Zelda...whenever they freakin' release it.

Speaking of Naruto for consoles, there's a PS2 release that's fairly recent that's really good. I got a chance to play the Japanese version sometime last year, and I really enjoyed it.
... if I can remember what it was, I'll post the name, later.... ^^'
Well here are my views on the Gamecube.
I thought the Gamecube was a good system that a lot of people didn't really take advantage of for some reasons or another...anyway, I find that all the Prince of Persia games work best on the Gamecube, of course it's the controller. You could get Metal Gear Solid : The Twin Snakes which is a good buy for the GC. You could also get the Resident Evil games that were not ported to anything else and are still exclusive...each are like $10 used I think at any Gamestop or Babbages, a steal for certain. Also if you're into Sonic you could get the Sonic Gems collection which is another great game (or compilation) for the GC thats not out for anything else.
Honestly I'm not a fan of Nintendo's own games for the most part but I will vouch for Smash Bros...you may wanna look into reserving Twilight Princess as well.
I actually bought a GameCube specifically for Twilight Princess. I just wish it would actually come out. Resident Evil is definately worth getting as well. The console is actually pretty good. I say if you have the extra cash, you won't be disappointed.

Last generation, I bought a PSX and then an N64 when the prices dropped way down. I'll be repeating it soon with the Gamecube, and it'll probably be reversed next time around since Nintendo's system will be the cheapest.
How was Rogue Squadron? On the N64 I really only played Ocarina of Time and Rogue Squadron (and Pokemon Snap). I'd like to get into some of the Mario games (Super Smash Bros. is definitely on my list) and Soul Calibur with Link sounds fun. Are there any particularly good RPGs on the GC?

I once had a gamecube. I traded it and some cash for a DS so i could get Advance Wars DS. The Wii comes out at the end of the year. If you can hold out till then i would recommend that since it'll be able to play gamecube games as well... anyone know how that will work with them controllers? or will you be able to hook up a gamecube controller?
oh yeah, the new smash bros. will be wifi capable :) :) :)
and they're putting out a wifi capable version of crystal chronicles... err... yeah..

I bought a gamecube for my wife with wireless controllers for the sole purpose of Zelda. I bought the zelda collection disc and plan to keep up on all zeldas since then that work on the cube.
The sad thing is the best zelda from the early days isn't on that collection disc. That being the third one I think. I can't remember its name.
So, you wouldn't be the first to get a gamecube for one game. Does this make it wise? Not necessarily wise or unwise. We got out of it what we wanted out of it.
