Just finished the moivie..and all I have to say is wow. It was excellent. According to people I know who have been to Iraq, say its pretty much just the way they showed it in the movie. I think it gives an awsome representation of the war and what our military does.
I, myself, joined the Army back in December and won't go to basic till June. This movie has really opened my eyes though of what its going to be like in the desert. I'm very nervous, yeah, but I don't know how its going to affect me until I'm there.
Bit off topic but back on now, I'd recommend seeing the movie. Its worth the time and money for renting/theater.

I heard it had little to no fighting in the movie. Although I don't ENTIRELY go to a movie for that, were the previews misleading?

Previews are always misleading. They will often show scences that are only meant for the TV spots, and they will never be added into the movie. The previews are there to get people to go to the movie, and most people wouldn't go to a war movie with no war. So the majority, from what I remember, of this movie doesn't have any fighting it does have some.

Its about war yeah..with some fighting but not really any of the blood, guts, body dropping everywhere type fighting. I think its more about the soliders than it is the actual war though. Yeah, they are in the war..but the movie shows you what its like for them being there.

From someone who was in Kuwait at the same time as this movie was referencing i have to say I was very impressed at how accurate it was. Not only in what it was like but in the general attitudes and personality of the people around you.
I did also play football in full MOPP gear. It was a pretty common thing to do. I however was in the Navy not marines so the furthest into the desert I got was base border patrol. Even still the interation was there and in many cases very similiar (most of the movie was in base camp and/or the "rear")
