Has anybody played this game yet? I am a Tomb Raider fan, bought and completed everything from the original to Chronicles, but I disliked Angel of Darkness intensely, because of the way they changed the control system.
You could not line Lara up properly anymore, no more calculated precision jumps, just run at the ledge and hope. Ugh.
I also did not like other features such as the 'grab bar'. From the reviews, I wasn't the only one to have these gripes.
So, before I try this new one, I would like to what other people think, have they gone back to their older style, or is it still the 'new look' of Angel of Darkness?

I've played the demo of it... the moving around is annoying. Because there's no precise controls for it, you just fiddle your mouse and the WASD keys around until you get it right, and also, when jumping off ledges, you cannot control to where you jump. Guns are underpowered... but the graphics are sexy, as is Lara. xD

I can not speak for the pc but it worked very well on my Xbox. Controls were fine and after a bit of experimenting I got Lauras moves down pat. Combat is not that great but it is serviceable. The real fun here is the platforming and the environmental puzzles. To help you solve some of these new puzzles Laura uses a magnetic grappling hook to pull objects to her and vise versa. It also works as an impromptu rope that allows you to swing across some gaps. The story was all right but the ending was a cliffhanger. The locals were a joy to explore and the voice acting was actually pretty good.

It's worth a rental but you should play it for yourself before you buy it.

I rented it, and found it to be a ver enjoyable, if overly short game. Definetely a rental- I just don't see the point in buying a game that's over so quickly.

I played it and I must say it is a worthy successor to TombRaider 2. The cutscenes are movie worthy, the voice acting very good. The combat is anything else than boring, you have bullet time moves which are not that easy to pull off but look really nice. It doesnt get boring, there is a level where you ride a ducati through a canyon and the levels dont look the same. It is a bit short though. But I didnt like the Croft Manor, it was too annoying for me.
