I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not, but the WoW site (http://www.blizzard.com/wow/) actually has put up a link to the last World of Warcraft comic (http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.php?cdate=20031120). Can't say those guys at Blizzard don't have a sense of humor.

They've done that with like 3 or 4 other /gucomics as well in the past..

It's pretty neat =)

Do they have to ask Woody to do that or what? I think thats really cool.

Actually, it was a previous link on the WoW site that led me here. I decided I was going to browse the archives and forums of /GU Comics, and here I am now.

I think its a good way to get Woody's work out there. There's alot of traffic at the Blizzard site you got to imagine, so I'm fairly postive that it's ok that they link his comics/archives. As long as they don't upload actual work from him, it's all good.

I found my way here from www.eqtraders.com which uses a gu comic for each section of it's "learn a trade skill" (with the exception of brewing, which I find strange as there are some good stein of moggok jokes in some of the comics. I know it's not brewary, but it involves drinking).

As long as Woody is properly compensated (be that at very least a link to the site) then it can only be a good thing :)

I'm pretty sure I got here through Eq Traders, too.

I came from Planet Everquest (*shudder*). I had finished reading all of Ding! and decided to browse through each of the links they had, and one brought me here to GUComics.

I can credit the Denmom and EQTraders for my appearance on these forums. Wow. So many of us found our way from there! :)

Denmom is the reason I have never trash-talked about halflings...I'm afraid of that rolling pin of hers.

I was looking through my referrer list, and came across a site that had brought in a good number of hits. So, I went to check to make sure they were using GU images/links properly, and to thank them for their support (I do that whenever I can).

So sure enough it was links to the archives, and I emailed my thanks. The response I got back was "I'll be putting the link up on the WoW site and battle.net here in a little bit." (or something similar)

Sure enough, before the day was out, GU was linked off both sites. I considered myself a very lucky cartoonist.

---

And, as far as permission is concerned... no one needs permission to link GU from their site. They only need permissions to use content from my site, such as reporting a news article in it's entirety, or, more commonly, highjacking GU panels for display on their site.

Needless to say, I was very happy that someone at Blizzard decided to do that. I mean, they'd sent me goodies in the past, but that was like a friggin birthday present from a long lost relative.

I found my way here from Blizzard, one the few game companies that looks for quality more than quanity, I.E. they dont make a whole bunch of cheap games on dead-lines!

EQ Traders here too. Niami and Ngreth are gods. I don't know what I'd do without them.

My friend showed me the comic with the warrior tailoring bandages for bind wound, I followed the word gucomics in it to here. :) Read the entire archives in 1 sitting (Woody's host must hate me).

I actually doubt the host even noticed.

Woody

KiTA if you were the only one that did that... maybe. **laughs**

You're not.

Wow... I remember finding the link on eversomethingorothervaultthingy... following it there and staying with it because Woody is (almost) always funny.
The guys at Blizzard are great, it's one company that I respect simply for the good job that the do do for their game.

Ha. I read the archives in one sitting as well. It took quite a bit of time due to the occasional bouts of gasping laughter.

other sites like blizzard linking GU on their sites actually helps woody's comic popularity.

I heard about GU comics from a old time online friend back when GU comics just came out.

Been reading /GU since Woody was hosted on Everlore....long, long time ago. Ahhh, memories. *smile*

Woody

Yup Nos... was good times, until UGO decided the Everlore and all it's entities would have tons of advertisement. The breaking point was when I was told there would be pop ads if I wanted to remain hosted there.

I found out about /gu when I was looking up info on classes and deciding what race I wanted to pick... In all honesty that level 53 Mage playing Go Fish with Naggy made me think that mages were cool since they could beat the crap out of Naggy... So when I dinged 53 back in the day I went to Naggy's chamber... Barely beat the King... then bum rushed Naggy only to be banished :) Ahh it was so nice being a fairly young and ignorant mage

I first stumbled upon GU while cruising the everlore site back when GU was only 3 or 4 panels old. Though I didn't start reading the forums 'till I signed up christmas eve 02.

Woody

That info is incongruous Radical.

GU had 10 strips to it's credit before it was ever public.

It was then picked up by EQ answers and stayed there for a good while before it was hosted by Everlore.

It was then hosted by Everlore until they said "pop up ads". So I went to Keenspace.

Stayed at Keenspace until the Boston Fan Faire when I talked to Castersrealm and Allakhazam's... felt a little dirty, and decided to talk to the SafeHouse instead.

I actually heard about gu ingame ... it was around the time Luclin came out and somebody said something in /shout a bunch of people laughed, and I sent a tell asking them to explain.

Didn't start reading the forums til much much much later....

EQ traders lead me here. I didnt discover the forum until I became curious of what the BLAH BLAH BLAH in the corner of the front page was.

I started reading because a really good friend of mine (who has been playing Everquest forever) mentioned GUcomics to me after I started cracking jokes about things in game. She knew that I'd appreciate the humor, and I do! She wanted to get me hooked on Brell Rants as well, but that didn't happen. I got hooked on the official forums and GuComics forum instead. (I think that I go both places for the humor and information, Asbro is funny!)
