World Map (thanks Rookie) (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y286/Rookie89/map13.png)
History
Ages past a great general named Terlus Heurlian declared this this world was from that time forth entirely part of the Sudara Empire. A vast alliance of nations was under his command and with skill and cunning he crushed all opposition. It seemed a golden age was to begin. The year of this announcement was declared Year 0 of the Common Era.
Within the lifetime of Emperor Terlus' grandson a disaster struck the world. On the eastern sea an island slid into the ocean causing a huge tidal wave that swept the capital of the Sudara Empire and nearly all of its major cities and much of its major croplands were swept into the away. The empire tried to fly apart as formerly docile nations asserted remembered independence. Bloody civil war followed until the highest priest of Soma, who somehow survived the sinking of the empire's capital, managed to gain control of the largest factions and stop the war. The far Westlands succeeded in splitting from the Empire and there was no force large enough to force them to return.
High Priest Josairus declared the empire to be renamed Somnada, which meant “Land of God” and named himself Soma-Ki the First, claiming divine lineage.
The centuries ground on in the Westlands. The northernmost nation split into four separate countries: Turvodia, which included much of the Horseland Plains. Heavily forested Tordagral, the mountainous fjord-lands of Turvitna and the mysterious island of Venkar.
South of this, the nation of Queensreach prospered under the rule of a long succession of very capable kings and queens (the firstborn inheriting rule whether male or female). During a time of particular prosperity the Queen of the time sent a great fleet to search the seas, discovering the near fabled lands of Venaria, Kavasland, the Itoril Islands, and Venkar which had been seperated even from their northern brothers for ages by this point.
Yet further to the south the nations of Dagadia and Norvaseid grew on a wealth of minerals and exotic spices and fruits desired worldwide.
Now is the year CE4188. For decades the weather worldwide has been changing for the worse. Winters grow longer and colder, rains fall where they should not and do not fall where needed. Crops fail and fishing beds, which for thousands of years have been excellent, are starting to thin.
Culture:
Northlands: Viking/Mongol. Large fierce people who love battle. Much of the northlands are constantly fighting one border skirmish or another though they seldom come to a full war. The Fjord-landers of Turvitna commonly strike south in ships that are the envy of much of the world. Raiding coastal towns and cities as far south as Dagadia and occassionally Norvaseid. Trade as well as plunder motivates these people, wealth and plunder of the world comes home on the great longships.
Queensreach: Roman/British. The nation of Queensreach is wealthy and technologically advanced, though not interested in conquest so much as trade and exploration.
Southlands: Pre-Islamic Arabia. Independent communities, cities and islands make up the nations of Dagadia and Norvaseid. Traders through the deserts move between oasis cities and mining towns making great wealth. The people who live here are very superstitious though as many of their lives hang on attaining a balance with their surroundings.
The major and minor islands: Asian. Undiscovered for much of the world's history, the island nations of Venaria, Kavasland and the Itoril Islands grew strong and vibrant though fairly isolationist. Great cities and the ruins of civilizations so ancient that none remember them can be found among the tropical jungles.
Somnada: (semi)Roman. The people of Somnada still hold to ancient history of the great empire of which little remains. The priests of Soma rule the widely varied lands of this nation, overruling kings lords and any other secular rulers. Cultures in this country vary wildly and nearly everything could be found by someone who searched long and hard enough.
The Temple of Soma still holds great power in the westlands and to the south but control is all but non-existent. The current high priest, a man of nearly 100 years and slipping sanity, has called an inquisition to wipe out the heresies that have been spreading through the westlands for the past thousands of years. Needless to say the leaders of these nations are not happy with this intrusion while and odd shift in harvests is threatening to topple them.
3 levels of each skill, advanced levels require all of the lower versions of the ability. Skills are to be considered a general guideline of ability. Someone with higher Martial Prowess should defeat someone with lesser in an equal fight although circumstances can change the odds.
Pick 5 abilities or ranks.
Weapons
Craft/Profession: Blacksmiths, alchemists, bartenders, etc. Higher levels mean greater skill. Normal village blacksmith is level 1, one of the greatest master smiths in the realms is level 3. Note that some professions benifit little from higher levels.
Martial Prowess: Combat ability. Specify which weapons are preferred on character creation. Higher skill means greater ability with weapons and easier use of unfamiliar weapons.
Horsemanship (basic is free, only 1 level purchaseable): Skill with riding horses and similar beasts of burden. Basic is given free and allows riding docile animals without difficulty. Greater skill allows more impressive actions while mounted.
Nobility/Wealth (includes rank in clergy.)
0= Normal person without title or wealth. ex. Common soldier or low ranking officer
1= Title but no great wealth ex. Hedge Knight or local priest.
2= Small land and income such as from controlling a small to mid size town. Ex Minor knight or major merchant. Can support a small number of companions or mercenaries.
3= Large title and income such as from controlling a larger region usually comprising several towns or a small province. Ex. Minor lord or heir to such.)

Current game time: Early spring CE4188
Current news/rumors:
-Hard winter, many villages are low on stored grains and hoping this harvest will be far better than the last many or there will be very tough times ahead.
-Turvodia and Tordagral currently experiencing a larger than usual border fight.
-Raiders along the northern continental coast. Described as "creatures with the heads of beasts that speak in doglike barks who glide across the ocean upon fearsome sea beasts" Villages are left completely slaughtered.
-Increased activity along the Somnada border. Nations beginning to build up armies and stationing them nearby.

Nobility/Wealth 2: Chieftan of small coastal village.

Random map suggestion: a grid overlay (think battleship), where going across one grid is a day's worth of travel, to give some idea of how large the world is, and how quickly we can reasonably go from one place or another. Some people favor hexagons.
Random ability suggestion: You left out acrobatics, which is favorable for this suggestion: if a character has any ranks in martial prowess, perhaps they could specify whether their skill is based upon agility or strength (though with some weapons, this would be obvious).
--
(This character is assuming a heavy Arabic influence in the southern regions; if you'd prefer a more homogenized (name, weaponry) character I can make do.)
Jaida bint Salah/Jaida al-Zarqa
Homeland: Dagadia
Game start location: Her tavern in Port Elside, Queensreach
Skills: Profession (Bartender) 1; Wealth (Owns a tavern) 1; Martial Prowess (Scimitar, Jambiya) 2; Horsemanship 2 (first one being free).
Assets: A moderately profitable tavern in the docks of Port Elside, two employees.
Jaida is not physically strong, but she makes up for that with her practiced agility, both physical and mental. Most of her patrons know her as Jaida al-Zarqa. Average height, blue eyes, dark skin, dark hair... the rest should come out as the game progresses.
Additionally, if anyone needs to contact me, AIM and e-mail are always available.

Homeland: Dagadia
Start: Along central border between Dagadia and Somnada

Nobility/Wealth 2: Second son of wealthy Dagadian merchant.
Profession 1: Trader/Negotiator
A smart young man. While his older brother was raised to handle the business when their father passes, Alren was trained in the martial and diplomatic skills needed to protect the caravans that are necessities in Dagadian trading, but he is nowhere near complete with his training.
Current Assets: Two caravan carts containing trade goods. Two drivers/handlers and 14 armed guards.

That could be workable. I don't have photoshop though so if Rookie (or anyone else) can't do it, probably will be able to add a ruler to give scale.
Random ability suggestion: You left out acrobatics, which is favorable for this suggestion: if a character has any ranks in martial prowess, perhaps they could specify whether their skill is based upon agility or strength (though with some weapons, this would be obvious).
Acrobatics would have eaten a precious skill point ;) As with Stealth it comes down to a simple call on the players (or my part in extreme situations, I will take into account the chars description and past actions) to perform a particularly difficult act that would have been covered by those skills in more complex systems. Remember when performing an action you have to take account of what you are carrying.

As to setting up a grid system:
With maps like the one i've made, grids tend to take away from the map and cover up things and makes the map a little more difficult to see and understand. unless photoshop has a way to draw semi-transparent lines across the map?
$tormin, since i believe you are more knowledgable on such things, what would be the lowest rank a noble could have yet still have control of a small territory with a small castle and a single village? I was thinking a Barony or a Duchy, but my medieval terminology is a little rusty. I wanted to give Benton a title, but i wasn't sure.

Rac'ki Tinar
age: 31
Homeland: Venaria
Current Location: Port Elside, Queensreach
Skills: Martial Prowess (Katana, medium to heavy armor) 2; Swordsmithing 1
Nobility/Wealth: 2, Minor noble(an Earl in midieval terminology) of Venaria, has some wealth, and land there, but prefers to travel.
Craft/profession: Wanderer; professional swordsmith
Weapon/Armor: Katana, complete chainmail set.
Raki is small, yet somewhat muscled, but he depends on his agility much more then his strength, he is 5 foot 4 in height, weighs 150 pounds, has green eyes, raven black hair.
Raki is also quick as a cat with his katana, he is intelligent as well as cunning, but prefers to stay away from politics, which is why he wanders from town to town, city to city, country to country.

There's no reason why we can't have links to both the grided and un-grided map.

I was thinking something like that. If it's practical at all, the whole A1 thing can be added easily. I don't know how much use we'd get out of it, as things don't necessarily need to be precise.

That's actually not bad at all. It all lines up pretty well. We could say that the distance to get from one square to another is one or two days depending on what we want the size to be.
The A1, B1 thing would be a nice addition, so later if there's a character in the Fort Clay area (southern) we can say they're in J5, or whatever it ends up being. Grided and ungrided sounds good to me.

PNG was smaller in terms of kb, and it looked best. :)
Any plot plans yet? If not i have a small suggestion:
Raiders from Turvodia and Tordagral are starting to move into Somnada and Queensreach to raid for crops to support their war. Benton gets sent on recruitment duty, and recruits Nova and his crew, and Gramorns characters as hired help to drive the intruders out of Queensreach. And then we move up to the border as a counter-raiding party and drive out the raiders.
That should get us enough time to come up with a continuation, perhaps a trip to the islands.
Speaking of the islands: Are they going to be mostly an Aztec/Inca like place? Thats just the impression i was getting.

Hardly pirates, more like vikings. Navo is chieftan of a village and he sails occassionally to trade and raid. Less raiding than trading though, this is a time of peace ;)

Cien is a little taller then her lord, at 5'6, she has the green eyes that are common to Venarians, as well as the raven black hair, Cien and Raki are often confused as brother and sister, but with the way they act with eachother, they might as well be.

Kaylen, I was about to suggest the same thing. I also wanted to add a plot point that perhaps some of the more radical Somnadans are bringing their inquisition to foreign "heathen" lands like Dagadia and Novasareid (aka "crusading"). Alren might have caught sight of just such a group, now he's rushing to the closest port, Elside.
oh, and a couple secondary characters with me I wasn't expecting to have, but may play important roles. Giving them 4 points each as secondary chars.
Mas
Homeland: Far Eastern Novasareid (off the map)
Profession 1: Driver/Bodyguard
Skills: Martial Prowess 3: heavy staff preferred, but skilled with many Dagadian and Novasareidi weapons
Gam
Homeland: Same as Mas
Profession 1: Animal handler/Driver
Skills: Martial Prowess 2: Spears on horseback, hand to hand otherwise
Horseback 2
Mas and Gam are brothers from Novasareid. Both are dark-skinned. Mas is 6'5 and very muscular, he likes to show this off by never wearing a shirt. Gam is only 6' and far more slender than his brother, but is still toned from work with animals. They found favor with the Elmeni family in Dagadian port, and have been training and accompanying Alren since. Mas is talkative, but his original language doesn't translate well to common trade languages. Gam doesn't talk much except to his animals, but he'll understand almost anything said to him in almost any language, as he's very good at reading body language.

His latest mission is to find and bring back the former priest, Father Drahir Samoth, whose crime was treason, and plotting to kill the High Priest. Navo was in too much a position of power anyways. As a "game master" I don't want control of the groups decisions really. I am participating but not gonna lead.
Btw, there are nowhere near 40 inquisitors, just a small handfull. They are just riling up the crowd and leading the mob. Also it was my intention to have everyone dropped off safely away from the city but that's too late to go back on so I will try to be more clear on my intentions next time.
Rookie
06-11-2006, 10:42 PM
During the real inquisition, it would usually be one or two inquisitors getting a crowd together. A lot of people were killed because it was merely hinted they were heretics. Many times people who disliked others would drop a hint to the local inquisitor and the accused would be tortured for no real reason.
Accused witches were also tried for witchcraft (obviously) , which was considered heresy.
So the inquisition wasn't such a cool thing.
(I learned that in World History!)
$tormin

Inquisitions also tend to take a life of thier own since usually the inquisitor gets a fair chunk of what the convicted owned. It made fair trials to pay the judge to find you guilty ;)

Rookie, are your characters in the path of Jaida and Alren, or somewhere else?
Also, if this is the group that I had described earlier, they may not be to keen on strangers coming into the camp. I was figuring they were either crusaders from Somnala or an organized bandit group under some local warlord.
But I also suppose if this is a local warlord's party, they may consider you some sort of ambassador, especially since you look like a noble.
Rookie
06-13-2006, 10:23 AM
If your guys are headed for the capital city, then they're probably on the same track, cause thats where my first stop on this little trip is going to be.
The camp that i found was actually going to be bunch of indecisive refugees. With the group you saw in the east, rumors of inquisitors to the south, and the conflict they just left in the north, they cant decide where to go. So this was going to be a little prelude to something i'll probably be taking on myself.
in conclusion:
Where there's war, there's refugees, and Benton and company stumbled on them caught between a rock and a hard place. And they are heading for Kingsreach then onward home to Kingsreach Peak.

06-13-2006, 11:56 AM
alright, I'm clear now.
Based on the map, Jaida and Alren are headed south(east) towards Dagadia, you seem to be headed northeast, so I don't think we're on the same track at all. Jaida must have her reasons for whichever way she's heading, Alren and his bodyguards are chasing her at this point, but also have reasons to head south, since Port Elside is not as welcoming as Alren had hoped.

He also has a small gladiator ring under his fort, deep within the ground, where he houses his slaves. Albet Almeni
Profession: 3 Inventor
Nobility: 2 Major Dagadian Merchant
Albet is nearing 50, but the stresses of his life make him look much older. He is Alren and Rhakim's father. He is a squat man and his beard is think and white; his sons look more like their mother, who died only two years after Alren's birth. Before his wife's death, the Alren family was only a minor trading family, but that changed soon after. Albet took up tinkering and inventing to try to keep his mind off his wife, and a couple inventions led to massive success, including a screw system for mining and a pulley system that worked for making massive harbor cranes that could lift almost any cargo. Albet has passed on much of the actual trading aspects of his work on to his sons. Albet will pursue any avenue he can to get his hands on new research, he has contacts in almost all major cities, and has used them in some cases to steal some major secrets for his inventions.
Rhakim Almeni
Profession: 3 Trader
Nobility: 2 first son of a major merchant
Rhakim grew up tailored to be the heir to the Almeni trade family. He has a natural aptitude for it, he is cunning and at times ruthless. He's taller and more slender than his brother, and has a long thin black beard. He had a romantic relationship with Jaida that went sour many years ago. When working outside the family home, Rhakim relies on a number of bruisers both to keep him safe and to intimidate others.

Kintan Gristall
Age: 32
Height: 5’9”
Eyes: green
Hair: brown
Skills:
Profession: 3 points, spy/informant; catches information around the land of Queensreach and sells it to whomever may be interested. His “cover position” is serving as one of the speakers of local affairs for Queensreach. Although he does have some informants in other lands, they are rarely useful and more often than not unable to contact him, due to the distance between them.
Nobility/Standing: 2 points, as the head of a loosely-defined group of spies and contacts, Kintan has many a man under his service, all of which he relies on to bring him any important information they come across. He also possesses a personal bodyguard, in the case that he must travel with protection. His residence is in the eastern section of Kingsreach, though he does own a keep outside of the city limits should he need to leave Kingsreach for any period of time.
Combat Prowess: 0 points, although Kintan does carry a slender dagger, and he knows how to use it, he would lose to nearly anyone in a face-to-face fight, and would only successfully slay an opponent if he caught them by utter surprise, such as with a stab in the back.
Backstory: Kintan has held his unique and knowledgeable position for five years now, his influence on the politics of Queensreach changing based on his allegiance. He would have easily been in jail years ago for some of the misdeeds he has transmitted, had any of it been able to be traced back to him. Although he has yet to obtain any intel on the current ruler or his or her higher council, the lesser lords and dukes are prey to his knowledge, and it is even rumored that he has a spy within the land’s standing army as well, in addition to a plant in the Kingsreach city guard.
Resources: A minor residence on the east side of Kingsreach, a keep in the forest northwest of the city, a host of servants, a personal set of 15 guards (common infantry, nothing special) and ten contacts/informants, in the places listed below:
4 in the land of Queensreach (towns and cities throughout the country)
3 in Kingsreach itself
3 in lands other than Queensreach
Grifkat
Age: 37
Height: 6’5”
Eyes: dark brown
Hair: black
Skills:
Combat Prowess: 3 points, longsword wielded in his left hand and a bladed gauntlet on his right. Dagger sheathed at his waist as a last resort. His weapons are designed to sacrifice some of their keen edge for more defensive advantages, making it easier to stop an enemy’s weapon in battle and turn it away from himself (with the exception of his dagger, which is sharp and serrated). Proficient with any weapon save the extraordinarily exotic. Wears leather armor when not expecting combat, and mail when he is.
Nobility/Wealth: 1 point, being the bodyguard to a powerful “politician” like Kintan provides Grifkat with a small degree of recognition, and his name is somewhat known amongst Kingsreach for his great skill in battle.
Profession: 1 point, bodyguard/soldier
Backstory:
When Grifkat first arrived in Kingsreach two years ago, it was with his band of sellswords, looking for some work to fill their bellies. After a nasty bar fight erupted into a mustering of the city guard and resulted in the death of all the sellswords but Grifkat himself, Kintan heard from one of his contacts how great the man’s skill in battle was. Through a combination of briberies and blackmail, Kintan managed to get Grifkat pardoned of his crimes, on the condition that he be indentured to Kintan as his personal bodyguard. Although Grifkat had started out hating his new position, he has warmed slightly to Kintan over the past two years, and now serves him with at least a degree of true loyalty.

I like making characters
Haifa bint Rima
Homeland: Dagadia (Dagadia Port specifically)
Profession 1: Guard Captain of the Dagadian Port Watch
Nobility 1: Guard captain conveys some standing
Martial Prowess 3: Exceptional at hand-to-hand and foot-to-groin fighting. Able to improvise weapons. Rarely if ever uses the sword given to her for her rank.
Haifa is a small Dagadian woman with fine features. Growing up in the streets of Dagadia Port, she knows most of its inner workings and also how to win a fight. Her sense of justice and keen intuition gained her many ranks in the Dagadia Port Watch, to the point where she is the highest ranking member that still sees street time, but only because she insists she still wants to do it.
She has some legendary tales attached to her, like how she supposedly took down an entire bar brawl single-handedly or how she chased down and caught a band of cutthroats who harassed the city and hid among the natives of an entirely unknown island.
Current assets: The Chaser, the watch's best ship. It is frequently used to chase down and board suspect ships. The ship's crew of 30 are considered part of the Port Watch and are exceptionally good at spotting hidden stashes and contraband, some of them being former smugglers offered the job in exchange for avoiding jail time. The ship's proper captain, Randel FarSpear (I'll probably give him a char description at some point), is a former raider from the north, and loves his ship more than anything.

ask me later, at this point i am friggen exausted because:
Yesterday we (the team) went for a cross country run at 8 through the woods with many branching trails. After everybody was together at around 8:45 we headed back, but one guy kept going down the road saying that there was a loop (aka a shortcut) that would lead him back to where our cars were at the bottom of the trail. I rejoin the others at 9:15 (we went quite a ways out and fear of being caught in the dark is a good motivator for running the entire way). 15 minutes later, the guy and one of the girl's brother are still off, going down the "loop". It is completely dark out and we had no flashlights. We were ready to call in the county search party when, lord behold, they come panting in down the same trail we started up. Apparently he realized shortly after it was pitch black out, that there was no loop. so after brother and sister were reunited and the genius was thoroughly chastised i had to drive one girl back to her house cause her parents were freaking out, because we all called our parents and told them that we had 2 people still lost, and that took 40 minutes. then drove everyone else back to the original house we met at. And then i drove home and didnt get home until 11 and either due to stress or something, i couldnt fall asleep until 2 and didnt wake up until 11 this morning.
So in conclusion: I'm tired and there is no loop.

Lidia Votannia Solette
Paladin-In-Training
Martial Prowess-1
Lidia is the 14 year old daughter of the famous paladin Eremon Vottania Solette, who happens to be a very good friend of Father Drahir. Although Eremon has sent out many search parties and even bounty hunters to find his beloved daughter, who was at the academy for paladins that Eremon founded a few years back, The Solette Academy, where she was training to become a paladin, when she was kidnapped by a band of mercenaries while she was walking through the park unarmed. After seeing Drahir come to her rescue, she can only hope that he can survive the brutish mercenaries, and return her home to her father.
Eremon Votannia Solette
High Lord of Monmouth, a region in Queensreach, and Paladin
Martial Prowess-3
When Eremon found out his daughter was kidnapped, he drew his weapon and prepared to get her back himself, but luckily his friend, Lord Jureem Ahten held him back. Eremon is getting old but can still handle himself against pretty much any foe. Eremon is a pretty intimidating man, standing at 6' 5", 200 lbs., with a large fiery red beard, which he is extremely proud of. Prefers to use a large two-handed battle axe to a sword, he had one custom made out of the strongest metals and alloys he could find. He has had enough of the damn search parties and is taking matters into his own hands, taking only his horse and his trusted bodyguard Tremones, he hopes to find his daughter before winter.

The word Paladin in these forums I'm sure invokes images of high fantasy, but I think it's entirely possible for them to fit in this world. If Gramorn can't think of a history for the Paladins, I believe I could, but I don't want to overwrite his thoughts. As long as the Paladins are more a monastic order than a martial one, I'll be comfortable with my characters around them. Plus it will help my storyline more if the sanctuary includes an observatory.

Also, there is no magic on this place, so paladins still can't do magic stuff (such as zeal, holy bolt and other Diablo II powers).
I find it interesting how everbody has taken a liking to Queensreach.

Here, Eremon and his Paladins are more monks than anything, so they're perfectly safe for your guys to be around Gum. Think of Sturm from the Dragonlance novels, they have no magic powers, they are really just highly disciplined warriors who strive to turn the world into a better place. :)
And I picked Queensreach because, it sounded the best for an Academy for Paladins. Hope you guys don't mind I just made Monmouth out of the blue, cuz I played Morrowind a few days ago and remembered the name. I should have the history of the Paladins ready tomorrow if I wake up early enough.

I hate to do it, but i am in need of another character that will fill an important role. Seeing as how there is a lonely, single Duke wandering through the wilderness...
Name: Princess Danielle Caroline de Blayde
Homeland: Ruby Waters, Queensreach
Starting Point:East of Lake City Turvitna
Skills: Martial Prowess (2 pt in Rapier); horsemanship (free);
Rank: 2; Princess of Ruby Waters, Queensreach
Backstory:
The third and youngest child of the Duke of Ruby Waters, she had no future as a leader so she left Queensreach to begin adventuring. In her early 20's, she was considered to be very beautiful, but her older sister was considered more so. Instead of wasting away in a castle being courted by half-wits and dandys, she took private fencing lessons and became quite skilled. Now 1 year from home she has a little bit of experience in the ways of traveling and in self-defence.
Current Assets: A horse, a rapier, light travel pack containing her neccesary gear.

Things are starting to pick up for me, methinks. I will be heading out to sea in due time (as in later) and i will hook up with whoever i find myself in close proximity with. But that may take some time since we're trying to have the travel as realistic and congruent with eachother as possible. (by that i mean we're trying to stay in the same days and our travels aren't zipping from place to place with no reasonable reason. Which is a good thing i think.)

I will get the post in tomorrow. It will move the DuVarne story forward and give information on the crisis.

Hopefully there will be an internet cafe or something nearby so I can check in every few days.

"I'm sorry Benton, but you will not be able to leave."
"What, why?"
"DuVarne had to leave. he hopes he can find an internet cafe and check up on ya once in a while. So make yourself comfy..."
"Dammit..."

Well good thing ive got characters at Kingsreach Peak trying to figure out how to (metaphorically) empty a box of starved enraged rabid weasels and not get bitten.

At least my excuse now won't be harsh. I'm off on my honeymoon starting Saturday for a week. I don't think there's many internet cafes on deserted islands in the Caribbean. Even if there are, I doubt I'll be thinking of this at all.

It was in very poor condition and I was forced to retrieve a new one. I think the new one is a bit out of shape. But once we get started again i expect it will lose some weight and become a nice muscular rodent.

Well, there is internet access around here. Haven't had the time or the will to bother with computers really until now though.

Hey its $tormin! HI $tormin!
I would have kept going except, you know, it'd be a double-post, and you know how the mods frown upon that particular course of action.
So I was hoping someone else would do something then i could jump in and the thread could continue. I had a metaphorical box of rabid weasels to open.

I will be arriving home sometime tomorrow and just unpacking will probably take quite some time, after which I will probably have to go through all the pictures. I will try to get something in then though.

Well i have some bad news:
School will be starting here very very soon and i have school sports to attend to and therefore i am going to have no time to post during the week. Weekends are a little more likely, but probably rare. This will continue until early November.

Hello
I have read most of the material in the Age of Frost posts, and at the very least skimmed it, but in case I missed anything.. mind if I join?

This RPT is pretty dead. If the original players wanted to get it going again you could jump in.
If there is any interest in it, I could start up a new RPT in the same world. I would give it a set goal though to keep its length shorter and give the players something to focus on.
I have plenty of notes penned out for stories I was planning to write, any of which could easily be turned into a RPT campaign.

I saw the date of the rp thread as 09-01-2006 and misinterpreted it as 09 of Jan 2007, so yes in reflection perhaps it wasn’t particularly current.
Looking around it does seem pretty dead around here, so yeah why not fire something up. Seems you have most of the necessaries up already so that would be easier.
Alternatively I may have some scripts/random musings/maps knocking around the hard drive, guess I could make them into something.

I'd love to get something going again, but personally i just don't have the time. I had sports in the fall and now school is in full swing and i've got too much going on to focus on this at the moment.
I may join in at a later date when things slow down, but i've got finals coming up then the second semester kicks things up a gear so i'd have a hard time keeping up. i may be able to help get one started, but as for playing, its probably not likely for a while at least.

Heh. Not a problem ;P
You're more than welcome to join the current story though. I have not had much trouble sneaking people into it so far.

I'm moving to Maine in a week but I'll give it a once-over and see if I'm up for it. I know I really did like my character, and the setting.

Well we have one fantasy RPT that is actually going, I don't think I could keep track of running two. If someone was willing to start a new one in the same setting and get people to play it, they can.
