Well, the whole point of the comic ideas is so they're a suprise...to some extent..when Woody actually creates and uploads them.

If you have another idea for a comic (not this, since it was sadly already spoiled), it might be more beneficial to message Woody directly.

..Or not. I don't know Woody's policy on that.

Any chance you could up the size limit of the avatars? Mine is 30k and only 12 is allowed.

GU strips only weigh 50-60K. And they are much larger than the size allowed.

There is NO WAY I'm opening up the size more than that.

Can you image what the load time on a page would be if everyone had friggin 30K avatars?

No way.

As a matter of fact... a Signature Graphic shouldn't weigh more than 30K. Yours weighs 97K. Bring it down, or I'll remove it.

One trick I used was to combine the first three frames into one frame that had three times the duration, and I combined the two lightning frames into one of twice the duration. Then I let Animation Shop run an optimization on it (what that entails, I'm not sure, exactly). So, after doing all that, I got it from 30k to 10k. :)

(Note: other than the aforementioned frame combining/deleting and optimizations, I did not edit the actual image content in any way.)

My sig used to be a bit bigger than Lance's there, resolution speaking.

Of course, mine was only 2k.

It was a 4 color PNG, and black and white compresses real well with PNG. Basically all it said was something along the lines of

"GIF: Saying in 300,000 bytes what 1 line of text could say in 48 bytes since 1998.
(Paid for for the comittie to make dialup modem users cry)"

With "I like pie" in the background, tiled, in lite grey. Or something like that. I lost it last time I purged my website of stuff. :D

I added that to my posts on FFXIOnline.com's forums about a year ago. Back then there were idiots with 900K animated GIFs with all their favorite Final Fantasy SNES sprites, animated, in their sigs. (But not a collection of like 1-5 small gifs. No, a huge 600x200 gif that was fully animated). 10-15 of them a thread.

Animated GIF sigs are the modern day version of an AOL signature. Thank god ffxionline has a "show images as inline or as a link?" option. :)

EDIT: Woody should you have a sticky (or include in the 13 ways) about sig sizes? Height/weight/size... The tolerance levels differ from one board to another.

Euphem. That image, like I said on the old boards, takes up too much vertical space. The image, text and all should not exceed 200pixels high. The weight on the image (19K) is excellent however.
