Well, just watched it. I'm going to need serious doses of psychotherapy. Please excuse me while I contact my shrink.
To imagine what this movie is like before you watch it is difficult. Take the goriest, most disturbing things you have ever seen in your entier lifetime, both in movie and out-of-movie. Add in some disturbing **** scenes. Add in brutality to animals and some insane special effects. Then put them all together. Multiply them by ten.
That is the general level of "gory-ness" of this movie. For those a fan of the fairly straight-forward plot-line slasher movies, this is the movie you have been waiting for. Even Hostel dosen't hold a candle to this one. I really did enjoy watching it however. One might expect this movie to be nothing more that a crap-tastic display of terrible writng and special effects, nothing else. However, thanks to John Cameron, the story line is almost endearing--see reasons below, if you don't mind spoilers.
Either way, I give it 4 starts out of 5. There could have been more characters, some were killed off waaaay too early, and, well...it's a slasher-gore flick, it always needs more plotline. However, it's special effects and action shots were some of the best i've seen in a long time.
SPOILER ALERT!!!

In the end of the movie, you actually feel sorrow and compassion for some of the mutants, most notably Ruby. She sacrificed herself for the baby, and it almost brought a tear to my eye. My mind was more focusing in on seeing Lizard take the swan dive off the 100 foot cliff though :) I think I was literally cheering at my TV screen, sitting alone.
