posibbly one of my most favorite books. I like this one because it was a book of the mind. It dealt with human behavior and how the world would be like in a diffrent way(or not) you just have to get by the first bit of it. I highly recomend this book for anyone who likes mind games.

I read that for the first time in the year 1984. Really put it in perspective then. I had a really great English teacher that year, helped us to understand it.

We read this my senior year at high school. It was a great book I thought. Really got me thinking. Our teacher even had us watch the movie (The book was WAY better) after we read it. She went over everything and we had all kinds of discussions about it.
I miss her, she was so much fun.

WOOT! 1984 FTW! this is my favorite book, my favorite year (born then) and my favorite number. Awesome book! If you loved it, try Aldous Huxleys "Brave New World"

I just finished it. I didn't like it alot, but it was interesting. I understood it, saw most of the symbolism and such, but i had to read it on my own time and didnt have the teacher help. I might have gotten more out of it, but on my own it was just a quick read.

Cha,
Orwell wrote it in like 47 or 48 or sometime in the late 40's. Back then, the TV wasn't quite personal yet, the helicopter was still pretty much in its early stages, and the computer probably wasnt personal yet.
And somehow Orwell envisioned these telescreens, people owning their own choppers, and Winston operating from a computer. How freaky is that?

Actually read that with a class. I liked Animal Farm a lot better than 1984. Great symbolism in that book.

"freeedom is the ablity to say 2+2=4"
Orwell is one of the very few writers to have freaked me out. I first read 1984 IN 1984 for a class and asked my mom to buy me a copy becaused I liked it. As for animal farm that was also messed up but I did like that one as well especialy how it turned out.
