Am i the only one that likes the basic assault weapons over the "improved" upgrade?

Why on earth would they take away your grenade launcher when you upgrade and give you some crappy rifle?

I like the upgrades. I haven't played BF2 in awhile so I don't know if they added more or what but the ones they had I thought were awesome. Grenade launcher = noob cannon

I hate people who use it and think that it somehow makes them a great player, sure it's not cheating, but it's still pretty cheap. If that made any sense. The upgrade weapons may lose the launcher but you get more power and some better accuracy. I use to snipe with the upgraded weapons and did extremely well. I guess thats sort of cheap too though...

But it's all about the player.

The Sf upgrade, I think its the OICW land warrior, has a nade launcher on it and its a decent gun to boot. But if you can learn to handle the G3 its a platform of semi auto death dealing. Generally I take the G3, especially over the M16a2, but urban areas, the ak-101 and ak-74 are demons ^_^.

Since nades from the GL bounce now it's not so great. I prefer normal nades these days, easier to get where you want them to be.

Deadly Eye have any tips on the G3? I always tend to suck with it. I miss too much and I see I have 10 bullets left and automatically think I have to reload, even though that's still half the clip >_>

Because the G3 is more accurate, packs one hell of a punch, and is a all around awesome weapon? :)

Personally, I prefer the Ak/m16 + 'nade launcher for the urban maps, but the G3 rocks in big, outdoor maps.

About bloody time too. The GL2000 was so overpowered it was basically a I-Win button. Basically, there was NO reason at all to pick a M16 or AK over a GL2000, as the rifle was superior, and so was the 'nade launcher. Now, at least, the M16/AK has better grenades, but the rifle on the GL2000 is better.

I tend to go Spec Ops or AT more now. The G36 or whatever it is, is fantastic if you control the spray when on auto. And the P90.. well 50 bullets, shot range, insane rate of fire.. nuff said.

After first posting this, I revisited the first upgrade to assault (I only have the base client, havent bought the expansions) I do now realize its a powerful and accurate rifle.

I'll try it out more. I have to say I am guilty of using the noob grenade launcher lol.
