Those newbie armors are MUCH better than what was available for low level players way back then, so it wouldn't have made much sense to include them on the progression servers... yet. Maybe once a few more expansions have been unlocked.

Those quests came out after luclin didnt they? or was it PoP? I bet once they are unlocked you will see them.

They aren't tied to an expansion, but the current plan I think is to unlock them with Luclin, cause it adds armor quests for Vah Shir then anyways.
Shame they didn't just balance the items tbh, cause the quests added some good content for the early levels.
Still, Progression was fun for awhile, now I just want the new expansion and race.

But part of the reason that some people are interested in the server is for the opportunity to play on a server where fine steel weapons and bronze armor are still useful. Putting the armor quests in there would screw that up.

Not really. Given that you can do a few PoR quests, farm better armor and weapons in Jaggedpine, get Blackened Alloy which is bronze-esque but wearable by chain classes as well, etc. It just happened that people whined loud enough about the newbie armor quests that they pulled them to appease the vocal minority.

But none of that gear can be acquired at level 10, unlike the newbie armor quest stuff.

When I had my warrior way back when, I did the Crafted Quests for class armor, is that on the progression servers?

Yes, next logical progression after getting BA is to the Sol Ro armor quests, if you can afford them (money and time). To some extent they're not really worth it since you can easily get better gear by continuing to level.
