Alrighty, so i finished KOTOR2 after only recently finishing KOTOR.
Well for starters, it is a little more open to choices than the other one. Not quite as linear. When you make a choice it can really influence how the game goes.
It doesn't take quite as much thinking power in terms of the little mini-games. You don't have to know calculus to solve a problem, just a little bit of "well if this is this, than this must be this".
The new array of characters is pretty awesome. And there's even a couple old ones (droids mind you). HK-47 makes his return to answer the question, "HK-47, do you know what love is?".
You actually get a better feel for the characters and get them involved because there are several places where you can't use the main character.
From KOTOR, most players will know about the Mandalorian Wars that took place before KOTOR. Well now they are explained a little further and some unanswered questions from the first are answered in the second. Like, "What the heck happened?"
The nice thing about this is that you start out picking your class as a Jedi. But you still dont start out with force powers until you level up, and you don't have your lightsaber yet (the reasons get explained in the plot, which i will not spoil.). Then later you get to pick a prestige class, such as Jedi Weaponmaster, Jedi Master, or Sith Maurader and Sith Assassin (depending on your allignment of course.)
Then theres the new skeelz. Power attack is still an ugly sister to Flurry and Critical Strike, but theres more of the improvement skills like precise shot, close combat ranged weapons, finesse with certain weapons, and cross class skills.
Force powers have some new additions. Battle Meditation (which we learned about in KOTOR) is now a power (though not quite as fearsome as Bastilla's). You've got powers that come along as you advance in the game, so you can't just level up and get them.
Its still got the same look and feel of KOTOR1 with the same fighting system.
I give it a 8/10. Its a little short (because i only beat KOTOR1 like less than 2 or 3 weeks ago and im already done with the new one) and doesnt quite have the punch of KOTOR1. But very addicting and still worth it if you liked KOTOR1.
