2) who says alliance cant be evil and Horde can't be good?

From the early days of Warcraft I always thought that the alliance was the 'evil' ones. They were the ones always trying to greedily expand there kingdom and eradicate the horde. WHo always seemed to be fleeing and just trying to survive.

Warcraft I: Orcs come pouring out of Dark Portal, destroy and basically burn to the ground an unprepared Stormwind. Humans desperately rally to turn back the Horde.

Warcraft II: Once agains, orcs come pouring out of the Dark Portal to sack human, elven, and dwarven lands.

Warcraft III: Turns out the orcs were demon possessed and not all that bad, but the humans... after years of war with the Horde, are not willing (for the most part) to believe this claim and thus hostilities continue to the present day... the setting of WoW.

So [I don't see] the Alliance [as] "evil".

Note: I'm not saying the Horde is evil either (with the exception of the Forsaken).

Post editted to make it more conducive to discussion than argument.

The Forsaken dont have to be evil unless you make your character evil. I play undead in WoW and i try to not be evil in fact my main is just happy shes not dead. The ones in Under City that follow the Dark Lady do have evil intentions tho

I've never thought the Horde as we know in WoW is evil, just a different point of view.

I don't think the Alliance are either of course, It just seems to be a case that the world isn't big enough for the both of them to expand like every culture / civilisation, does.

Actually, the humans don't rally. The orcs win. There's mention in the manual of an initial invasion that the humans did manage to push back, but it wasn't a decisive win (the orcs just retreated into the swamp and rebuilt their strength) but this may have been retconned away by the WC3 manual.

Nope. The orcs overran Stormwind in the first game, and when the human refugees retreated northward to the Kingdom of Lordaeron, the orcs followed. The orcs nearly won once again, but Gul'dan deserted his boss at a critical moment with two orc clans to go raise the Tomb of Sargeras. The Alliance destroyed the Portal, but it was re-opened from the other side by Nerzhul and the Alliance sent an army through to close the portal once and for all.

The Blizzard devs have been pretty forthcoming in their desire to show both the Horde and the Alliance as "good guys" (for the most part - there's some question about the Forsaken, and the soon to be added Blood Elves very clearly have some moral issues).

And I seriously have no clue where amcsteel would have gotten the impression that the Alliance was attempting to greedily expand its land. I can't think of a single instance in ANY of the games where that's the case.

yeah.. and tauren are pretty much there on honor, theyre basically there because the orcs helped them i beleive, or so i think.

i dunno, but alliance seems to be filled with more immature people than horde, at least it has been between 5 servers on both sides.
