To start off, I'd say 9/10 from me.
It plays a lot like Oblivion, except BETTER. The physics engine is done by Valve, so they work really well (removable limbs :D). The combat is 1st person like Oblivion, and melee weapons can flurry attack (keep clicking left mouse a lot) which just hacks em up slowly, and there are power attacks. Hold down left click and a directional key and your character goes into the stance, release, and he swings. Each different power attack does something different which can be used to exploit enemy weaknesses (ie: enemy doesnt have a shield on one side of body, or you just evaded an attack from one side). There is stealth like Oblivion with a meter telling you how visible you are, and there are fun little one hit kill backstabs.
One of my favorite parts of this game is that there are combos for weapons to chain attacks to cause something like disorientation on an enemy. The other favorite are the adrenaline kills. Every time you hit an enemy your adrenaline bar goes up. When it's full, the next power attack that lands is a 100% fatality. There are special fatalities for different weapons and power attacks. Some decapitate in slow motion, some severe an arm (or leg, but I've yet to see), and some are downright awesome. Example, the twin daggers (oh yeah, dual weilding :D) and bow. The daggers can decapitate like the swords, but you can also throw a dagger into an enemy causing him to die dramatically :P The bow you can one shot someone and they fly back a bit, or you can get up close and stab em in the mouth with an arrow and watch em fall over.
The magic is pretty neat also. There are about 12 spells, like fireball, lightning, freeze, telekinesis, charm, etc... but most of them have an adrenaline mode too (more damage usually).
The demo only contains 2 levels (tutorial and an orc infested place). However, people have already modded the demo so you can have more weapons (like the wooden staff of awesome), and some simple box maps where you can spawn a bunch of guys and go nuts. Also you can unlock all the spells and abilities (there is a little menu like diablo where you put skill points into to get abilities like sneak, flurry, more spells, etc...). The only reason I didnt give it 10/10 is because the story is kinda weak, and it isnt the full game yet.
Here is a link for the demo (http://browse.files.filefront.com/Dark+Messiah+of+Might+and+Magic+Official+Demos/;1694564;/browsefiles.html) (2 hour or less dl eek) and the mod (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/808101043/m/5261084374). Enjoy :)
Ah yes... and here is a piece of art I made called... "Owned (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b279/Fluffy918/DMbigbox1.jpg)"
