Whats your favorite class? Or was your favorite if you quit EQ...

So far I enjoy my Druid and Wizard most, being able to go nearly absolutely anywhere I need to at a moments notice...priceless. Plus my Paladin on FV has been a blast to play I got him to 31 in two weeks and am really enjoying the undead DD proc...mmm 234 points of proc damage....crap I just have to many characters I have played every one of them except for Beastlords....and I enjoy just about all of em...only class that I absolutely cant stand has to be Monks...buts thats because it seems that everyone who plays a monk tends to be on the immature side (that I have met)...oh well now im rambling, catch ye later.

Just wondering for general conversation...feel free to send me a tell...I tend not to play on Druzzil, but I do on Drinal and FV.

Sorry about the doubling up...but it was to many Poll options and it wouldnt let me put em all...
Mod Edit: Added in bards, looking into the number of options in a poll - Nem

heh, when I posted my poll answer, the results were 3 catagories with 33 each, rest had 0's...

3 * 33 =99, that doesnt sound like 100% to me.

by the way, I voted for warrior, I enjoy the simple fighting ways, and much more, the ability to tank.

For me, I feel quite the contrary when it comes to bards. They've always been one of my favorites, yet I personally have just never had the time to give mine the serious attention it needs in order to be come anything like some of the ones I've seen. I think I can get some agreement that bards do take a bit of getting used to, but this is coming from a guy who's primarily played purecasters, so I could be a little biased. =0)

However, I do stick with my wizzie. He was my second character ever and is still my favorite. There's just something about being to go anywhere with just a couple of clicks. =0)

You grouped Druids with Wizards? Bah.. why do people always think that the life of the druid involves nothing but porting and quadkiting?!

I think you should unhinge the poll and allow a full 15 selections...

why would ya group monks and beastlords? last I checked, playing the two were very different. One casts spells, has a pet, can buff. The other is DPS, has FD, is a puller. Being that I'm a monk, I'm hurt. lol

While i did play a Magi for almost all my life in EQ the time i spent on my Rangers was easly my most loved, so i have to vote them the best, besides nothing like being lvl 30 Ranger and Main tank.

and before you ask, no i was not a pain on the clerics i did as well as the pali and could out taunt them with ease heh. but I was a little twinked on weapons that Procked so much it was hard for me not to get agro, armour was normal for my level. all Offence/Defence skills where Maxed other than 2handed weapons i hate 2handers.
Rangers are uber, just need a good group and luck heh

Actually . . . it turned out rather well for me that you grouped Monkies and Beasties, both in my upper favorites (followed closely by my Warrior), and then, of course, my Cleric

. . . . what? Yeah, yeah . . . I know I only have four characters to begin with!

I loved my cleric to death, played him to 53 from near launch. Ended up retiring him though.

When I started playing EQ the second go around, it was Troll Shadowknight all the way. Didn't play him as long, but it was so much more fun than a cleric.

SK's should have their own option, definately better than paladins :P

Shadow knights = fun fun fun

Bards: Carpal tunnel, I leveled one up for a friend to 10, and my fingers and wrist ached for the next day straight from twisting.

is it just me or is rogue/ ranger in the lead, kindof unfair to give the best class i the game a pair up with the funniest and most comicly hp deficient one of the game

Kaylen
12-04-2003, 04:21 PM
.. Rogues are the best class in the game?

Penguin (:>(O ):
12-04-2003, 04:22 PM
heheh they are both hp deficiant which one do you mean :) Yeah i voted rogue but i like all classes cept maybe none of em... yeah i have made about 300 characters total. Been playing since Kunark and im level 45 :P

My main is a rogue, but for pure fun value, I go with my 25 enchanter. Having Crush as my pet, shrinking him, then zoning is fun, people have no idea how this pawn keeps killing them.

hehe.

I voted for cleric, although it's grouped with shaman. :/ I adore my cleric. I also adore my druid, but I'm absolutely no way not gonna happen share a vote with wizards. Wizards and druids as classes absolutely detest each other. :P

*steeples his fingers* excellent. Rogues are in the lead.

my main's a 54 rogue. i like rogues, they fun. Espescially sneaking up behind something and unleashing the Mighty Ginsu Style Attack Technique on them and watching your victim flee in terror...

mmm....yes rogue is good. though my cleric and pally aren't too far behind.

first started with a ranger but could not get anywhere with him and then made a cleric and it was ok, but was kinda funny I made a druid just to show a friend how EQ worked around feb 2000 and ended up playing him more than any other char.

How do you know Rogues are in the lead, Panda? It could be Rangers that are clearly winning...you never know..

I still think Druids should get their own slot...

Obviously it's rogues. Being that they are very very sneaky, they obviously rigged it.

I want to split me vote three ways ;) My two mains are Wizard 'n Bard, so I went Bard (I'm NOT a Druid, thank you! ;) ) Both are a blast, and the different playstyles keeps the game fresh for me...Get tired of nuking, jump on me Bard. Get tired of twisting, go nuke something <g> Have a young Rogue that's quickly finding a place in me heart as well, I'll admit.

Rangers are only good for 3 things.
1.) Taking heat off the gnomes when it comes to jokes.
2.) DPS if and ONLY IF they have EQ/AM3
3.) Sacrifices to DTing mobs and using weaponshield to allow MT to gain aggro and allow time for clerics to establish the CH chain.

Rogues own

Rogues > all

My main is a lvl 18 Shadowblade Rogue and she owns with her uber stealthy and poisonous assasination skillzzzzz.

I voted Magicians...Something about having a pet that can tank well and the option to blow up random mobs that tick you off that is just cool.~

But Rogue/Necromancer definetly tie for second place. BeastLord very close third. :p

my favorite is Wizard
I get to BLOW things up and survive from it

then again.... I like mages....

NO FAIR GROUPING CLASSES!!! the classes are NOT the same... i like shammys but never tried a cleric, and i'm not sure if i'd want a cleric, monks an BLs are not the same, i have a BL and i'm sure i would like a monk, but that is DSP vs pet DSP(even though you take the pet outta the picture you would have a monk with a few spells and only knows kick) ranger and rogue, i frown, they are both DSP but go about it in totally differant ways, one is close range the other is long rang, and agian rangers can cast, rogues can not... just a rant sorry but it isn't acuriate unless you seperate the classes... all of them.

DarKatan
12-04-2003, 09:29 PM
hmmm well some clarification is in order apparently...the only reason that I grouped classes was because the poll maker option was having a coronary and wouldnt let me have em all separate.
AND "Sorry about the doubling up...but it was to many Poll options and it wouldnt let me put em all..." Read my header..
Lol...anyway I will explain why I grouped em...

SK and Paladin: are both plate wearing "Knight" hybrids, they share some attributes.

Rogue and Ranger: Both or lightly armored and focus on non common Damage output...the Ranger via spells and bow...and Rogue via Backstab and associated skills. While Rangers can be wiped out by a rain cloud on average (why you think they stay under trees so much) it seemed a valid association at the time...

Wizard and Druid: As my two favorite classes, both are highly mobile and have enjoyable play styles, although how many feel bad about being associated with Druids kinda surpises me...im not talking quadding and being a Dr00d twink, I have worked very hard to get my Druid up and equipped and I dont have a high level main other than him...basically in the very least the classes are valid to spend time together. If only my Wizard had SoW...and my Druid Ice Comet...lol

Monk and Beastlord: Well as far as I can tell everything a monk can wield or wear(Xing Monk only  ) a Beastlord can as well...basically a monk/Shaman hybrid with a pet...which is a pretty cool class, putting them together is pretty obvious as they come pretty close to each other anyway(my opinion, if ye dont like it then sit there and fume in front of your computer for awhile and then go drink some juice or something...it changes nothing to bring it up...lol)

Shaman and Cleric: Once again to many to allow me to put it in for some reason...which got really annoying...so I shunted one up to the next...which just so happened to be Shaman...thats it...I have no association other than Wisdom caster...woohoo

Catch ye all later!

PS Good responses!! Now I shall mark this day down as the DAY THE EARTH STOOD AND WENT TO THE RESTROOM MUMBLING INCOHERENTLY TO ITSELF AND MURMURING ABOUT THE WEEVILS HATING HIM AND TRYING TO STEAL HIS CHILDEN...
By H.G. Notwells, now on Audiobook...also catch Meg...a giant shark eating people...who would miss it right?

right?

When i played EQ my main was a Ranger and that was pretty much all i played but i had an SK and a Monk(i think) alt. Never been a fan of playing casters or healers.

Iiliani Seadream
12-05-2003, 04:11 AM
Hmmm. I don't know that I can say which class is my favorite, I have only played two seriously, a druid and a beastlord.
I would need to put some serious time in on alts to get a feel for them, and the highest alt I have is only 21, (shammy, and not really enjoying, so I don't think that's going to be voted for).
As to which is my favorite between druid and beastlord..... >-<
Thinking.....
I enjoy Iiliani's ability to zip all over Norrath instantly. I don't worry about going to difficult zones with her because I know I can port out.
I seriously wish beastlords got Gate, currently fighting with Iilia in Nadox, to get there, it's PoK, Paineel, Warrens, Stonebrunt, Gunthak, Dulak, Torgiran, then Nadox, eek! Then to get out I have to do it all in reverse....

On the other hand, I enjoy the fact Iilia isn't in too much danger of being beaten to death by a green con when she is out of mana.
meh. I think I prefer my beastlord.
For the person who mentioned druids with Ice Comet... oOoooOoo put that on my Christmas wish list.
And I can't remember exactly what caster mob I was fighting the other week, but I now know what it's like to have one of those land on your head. Ouch. /comfort Iilia

Bards are the way. Swarm kiting > All

And I dunno...EQ is a pretty boring game, so having to play "twitch" style helps that some.

I wanted to vote enchanter, because I have so much fun playing the class. But with KEI available for cash the class has been degraded to merely a buff bot. It's not the fun it once was.
Although my main is an SK, I have to admit that playing a ranger is tons of fun. All you have to do is DPS DPS DPS and a snare once in a while. It's mindnumbingly easy. I like it. :) If you twink (http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=440783) them out taking a hit is even more fun.

I voted ranger.

PS: rangers suck, honest ;)

Where's the love for the Necros? I didn't play one until a few months ago and I really like her. There is always so much to do!

Mana / Health managment. Pet. You can heal people. You can transfer your mana to someone. I just really have fun with her and I'm never bored.

I used to play a cleric all the time and even though I like it, it got boring.

I have only played 2 classes extensively, and 2 other classes a little. My favorite has to be my monk, which has been sidelined till I see what the new "fix" for melees is going to be like. The other class I've played a lot is my halfer druid, which I created to tradeskill primarily (150+ in almost all skills). The other two I played was DE wiz which has been deleted, and a barb rogue, that I'm leveling up for the guild, which is currently rogue-less.

But again my favorite was my first, my monk.

Although i do enjoy my ranger. They can never compare up to being able to blow things up with 9k damage in one shot...with all of their mana =/ oh well. its more fun if you do it on a rat though...

Ive played so many different classes, across so many different levels. Ive always enjoyed Mellee classes, and my current stable (apart from the Shaman) are Warrior, Rogue, Monk, and Ranger. Far and away my favorite, the character I always come back to, is my Warrior. Ive always enjoyed the raw power my Ogre boy has, and I like the idea of standing toe to toe with the enemy.

Of course, being a sneaky so and so is fun too. =)

BARD! BARD! BARD!

My first and favorite character in the game!!
Since LDoN, I am a busy little songstress..always in demand.

I like this quote that I saw on another board

Being a bard is fun, in an AEish group we had in ssra mines, i parsed my dmg when we had 9 mobs in camp, and i was doing over 1k dmg a tic from just 2 dots. Also my dots where slowing the mob 45% and lowering MR which was helping the chanter who was chain AE stunning.
