I'm not fond of two strap backpacks. They make me look fatter than I am. So, I'd been looking for a good single cross-shoulder-strap backpack, to carry all my tech goodies on the plane with me, for quite some time. Then a few days before E3, I found this one at Wilson's Leather.

Oak Sling Backpack (http://www.wilsonsleather.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2048563)

It has a myriad of zippered pocked pouches, etc both inside and out. For some odd reason the shoulder strap has elastic shell holders... you just incase you need to carry shotgun shells onto an airplane. **raises an eyebrow**

The pack is roomier than it looks. though it did take a little squeezing to get my clipboard to fit in there. There's a front flap that crosses over and protects the zipper to get into the pack. There's an interior pouch for a music device with a small port for your headphones (typical but convenient).

The shoulder strap itself is pretty freakin' comfortable. It's wide and has a gel insert, so it doesn't pinch into the shoulder even when it's weighted down.

The only thing I didn't like about the pack is that it has a little waist strap that, for my purposes, is worthless and thus gets in the way. But, that easily remidied with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife.

There used to be a lite greyish option, but apparently that one has sold out.

Comfort: 4/5
Quality: 5/5
Design: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Bias: 4/5

Overall: 4/5

Actually I think they're for rolls of film (if you haven't upgraded to a digital camera).

Looks neat though.

I think you had linked this with a comic that depicted you wearing it a comic a while back...well my wife can't walk pass a wilson's without going inside to smell the store, and I happened to see one in the store. It did look very nice, I am usually impressed with the quality of stuff from wilson's. Sadly fundage was a little lacking (as pre the usual).

Looks like it would be godly for art supplies on the go.

Zhul, when I first bought it, I told Taks I thought the little elastic loops were to hold film canisters. But after one of the readers asked about why I'd put on a tactical bandolier... I've decided they're for shotgun shells. **grins**

I ordered one, and a new hat.
I'm thinking they'd be neat for holding tinwhistles.

It's funny. I looked at that and thought, "I could put so many baby bottles on that thing."

I'm such a Dad.
