Ah, I miss my days of being lazy in front of the TV. Couches and recliners are so easy to select and shop for.

Well, it's come to be that time, my computer chair is begging for the mercy and peace of a quiet dumpster. It has served me well, but with the cushions flat, pieces missing, and the recline lock just barely holding on anymore it's no longer so comfortable to sit in.

My stats:
Weight: 315 lbs (Yeah, I gotta drop some)
Height: 6'2"
Gender: Male
Average usage: Most of the weekend and between 2-6 hours on weeknights depending on class and work schedule.

Anyone know of a good computer chair brand/model that wil support my massive girth (I've destroyed 2 sets of caster wheels so far.. nothing more alaming than flying backwards in the middle of a deathmatch, hitting your head on the wall behind you while a peice of plastic shrapnel cuts your leg) while also being at least someone breathable so that I'm not overheatting in the summer months (My current chair is made of leather and it gets so uncomfortable after only an hour or two)?
I'd like to spend less than $300, but will put down the money for a good chair if necessary.

I am the same size as you, and have just about the same schedule as you, and this is the chair I have. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5697043&type=product&productCategoryId=cat07002&id=1056281191725) I love it. I sit at work for 8-9 hours a day on PC, then come home and play for 3-5 hours. It is comfy, and does not get hot and sticky like some cheap leathers. I've had it over a year and you can not tell. Also, if you keep the little allen wrench the base can come off the seat, which makes for some envious people at the LAN party when they are all sitting on folding chairs.

lol i think thats what i have as well (looks pretty much the same)
they are quite comfortable.. only thing is on mine the way i sit i used to have really sharp toenails and it ripped through the cushion over time (my chair looks pathetic)
its pretty much down to wood w/ a little bit of leather/filling on the sides
still comfortable tho hehe
(and im frequently sitting at it for 15+ hours soo.. yah.. thats pretty comfortable)

well i now have hope, i suggest those full seated chairs, maybe an full back chair that has arm rests (like the kind youd find at a library, without weird smell)

This is the same chair I have at 145 pounds and it is awesome. One thing I would recommend with it is to keep it locked at the upright position becuase it leans back kind of far and I noticed I had terrible posture when sitting it it.

Welp, as a matter of persepctive I went to the snaziest office furnature chair in town and gave the Hamilton Aeron a spin to see what the 'best' is like... now I'm out $760.

Damn fine chair, though... once I get it in 3 weeks :P

Actually it a Herman Miller Aeron, (http://www.sit4less.com/aeronchairs/aeronchair.php?KNC-IF0439297173) (I work in office furniture). You have a very discriminating butt, it likes the best! :)

Woops! I thought I had the name wrong.. Hamilton is a furnature brand, too, right? :P

And yes, my butt has been let down by far too many crappy chairs. My current one was lovely at first, at least until the padding wore out and the rocker latch bent, forcing me to be in a fairly uncomfortable posture.

Mmm.. 3 weeks.. can't wait.
