View Full Version : Guild grief
So... When everyone in the known guild has a game exspansion.... are we (the outside guildie) supposed to be forced to "upgrade?" Should we be obligated to Upgrade and or help those that can't upgrade?

thats very dependant on
1 the game
2 the cost of the upgrade and what it adds
3 the type of guild
for example im in a end game raiding guild in WOW to not upgrade would not only hold me back but i would be taking a guild slot of a person who potentially could assist in new content.
this goes on the premise that most end game guilds and i assume your in one or this kind of thing isnt an issue, have a cap on class invites.
to this end potentially you could be effecting the guild by not having this.
all that said there should always be a grace period to get it and it shoudl be judged on what that person already adds to the guild end result the guildmaster makes that call and if you disagree get the hell outa dodge

I'd say it would be the discression of the guild leader to make that decision.
I agree that a grace period is certainly preferable, perhaps until the expansion price comes down a bit. A truely awesome guild would have a charity fund for the less wealthy players to pull from in order to afford the expansion ASAP, but that, again, is the discression of the guild leader.
Truely it'd suck to not be able to afford an expansion that your guild is making heavy use of, but I can hardly expect them to hold back due to my lack of funds.

My general philosophy is that if you can't afford an expansion for an MMO that you're playing, then something needs to change in your real life to make it affordable. Not being able to afford expansions is an indication of trouble in real life that is ultimately going to interfere with your game play in any case.

that, OR if your guild leader is complaining about you not switching after he forced the whole guild, quit.
hes an ass, he wants everyone to do exactly what he says even if they really cant afford to do it, so eventually the guild leader will leave, be outsed or he will do somthing stupid like kick everyone who he didnt invite into the guild personally (which i have seen happen)
