Did this yesterday (http://web.mac.com/dawnsartstudio/iWeb/Dawn%27s%20Art%20Studio/Dawn%27s%20Art%20Journal/65CB8EBD-7F63-4EC2-BC84-9586C11AE399_files/wtrclrface.jpg)using a light-grey pencil and the digital watercolor tools in Painter 9.5. Not sure I like the paper texture the tutorial had me apply to the finished piece. Otherwise, the tools are pretty nice, and I didn't get paint on my clothes. this is a bonus.

But how will the neighbors know you're a crazy artist lady if there's no paint on your clothes?!

Very pretty... and yeah, I think the texture kind of detracts from it a bit.

Oh, you are so talented. I wish I could draw as well as you do. One day I will scan my drawing and let you critique it, did I spell that right?.

It takes me forever to draw something because I'm never satisfied with my drawings.

You most assuredly spelled 'critique' correctly. I'd love to see your drawings. I'm not really qualified to offer any sort of meaningful critique, but I might be able to offer a suggestion to help solve a problem, if you're having one.

btw... I don't know anyone who draws that has ever been satisfied with anything they've done, including myself. The 'best' is always yet to come. Thank you all for your kind words. :)

(You know... restricting my use of smilies is really making me change the way I communicate. grr.)

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I am eating your brain Dawn and stealing your talent!

This is another illustration for the book I'm doing for my grandkids. Actually, it's only part of one. Main character of the story is a big blue dragon.. Meet Francis (http://ic3.deviantart.com/fs12/i/2006/294/0/f/cover_art_for___Francis___book_by_dawnsartstudio.j pg).

This one is a self-portrait (http://ic1.deviantart.com/fs12/i/2006/296/c/7/Self_portrait_by_dawnsartstudio.jpg), drawn in Painter, over a photograph I took with Photobooth. It's traced, and I'm really crushed that it's better than anything else I've come up with. Part of that might just be my devastating gorgeousity. *tries to keep a straight face*

edit: For some reason, I can't view these by clicking the links. Please let me know if everyone else is having that problem, as well. If so, I'll blog these and post them from there, or host 'em somewhere else.

Got errors on both of the pictures, not sure if anyone else will or if it's just me.

Those are awesome!

I'm still working on my drawing. I have this process where I draw most of it and start to color in and shade, then I get upset with myself and think it's horrible so I put it away for 5 months and eventually get around to finishing it. hehe
