Well like everyone else I'm growing bored of World of Warcraft. So to solve this problem I decided to start playing my Xbox again and signed up for Gamefly since I would be renting games anyways. At Blockbuster its like 7 or 8 dollars a game so I figure I will easily play 4 games a month and therefore get my 21 bucks a month worth.

Has anyone else tried Gamefly and want to post here about their experience with it? Good or Bad? Shipping times? etc.

EDIT: Hmmm. Well, I think now I can review Gamefly on this thread instead of just reading your guys posts. My opinion is based on my single experience with Gamefly so it definately shouldn't be thought of as something that happens often or reflect negatively against Gamefly.

Here it goes. The games were shipped October 12th. The FAQ said that on average it takes 2-4 business days to ship. I was happy when I read that, even though it says Business Days I was praying to get my games Monday (17th), by the latest Tuesday(18th). Well, it is now Wednesday(19th) and I have yet to recieve my games. Which means it has been 5 business days, and 2 days on the weekend.

Frankly I'm pretty pissed off. After quitting WoW I don't really have much to do so each day I wait for the game is literally a day that is completely wasted. Yes I know my life is sad, and playing a game doesn't really give me a life, but at least in a game I can achieve something, without a game, I sleep.

Because this is my first experience with Gamefly it really gives me a negative perspective throughout the time I will be using Gamefly, and if they don't add time to my account for these games taking forever to get here, or if they were lost in the mail, I will definately not use Gamefly again. I don't really want to have paid my money and not get anything until over a third of the time I paid for is used up, can ya blame me?

So for now, my rating is 1/6. I give it that one because I did have fun using the Video part on each game and watching some gameplay videos on various games. They also had a wide selection and I guess I could have used it if I actually got a game.

EDIT2: Alright so apparently my games came Tuesday and my mom didn't recognize the mail and I guess didn't remember and just put them off to the side. She actually doesn't remember when they came but since they were with a newspaper from Tuesday we assumed its from then. So my rating before means nothing.

Gamefly’s worth the money, so long as your somewhat patient with the mail system, they sell decent quality used games too, and in the two years I used them I never got a game that didn’t work.

its pretty good, i even got to play the 2nd Zone of the Enders game, most games are in good and working shape, and you can even buy most games (or "lose" them) that you want to keep.

i actually played the PS2 Metal Gear Solid 2 :Substance! i just wish i could get it again.

dont forget to occasionally do some used bin diving though, i was lucky and found Armed and Dangerous, Shenmue II and a plethora of other games, really cool.

i think delivery takes around 7 days depending on where you live, but that might have changed a while ago.

We used GameFly here for about 2 months. The biggest problem with GameFly is the envelope SAYS "GameFly" on it. Most people rent the newer $40-$50 titles and the envelopes mysteriously don't get back to them after being dropped in the mail assuming they even got to our door.

After receiving 3 of the 20 games they sent out - and they only got back 2 of the 3 we DID get - and repeatedly having to report them lost in the mail we gave up. It got to the point where we were looking at the rental list and asking "What do we think the USPS Pirates would like to play today?"

and you can even buy most games (or "lose" them) that you want to keep.

Way to promote the piracy/theft there....

they have lost a game before in the mail, i beleive it was Monster Hunter, and havnt actually stolen games, id rather just buy the damn thing, in fact i bought my monster hunter from them.

but i mean.. well if you ever see ZOE2 or MGS2: Substance in a bargain bin, you tell me ok? because id much rather have the box to show off =D

i guess your branch of the postal service has more game players, ive only lost monster hunter on the way in, it took a week and 3 days before i realized it was overdue, i sent the site a mail and they saw my problem, and sent me a copy that got there.

I've had GameFly for about 2 years before I canceled my subscription. Here's my take.

Only once did a game get 'lost' in the mail. And that was the last game they sent out to me before I canceled. Because I never got the game, and I canceled, they charged me $30 for it. I never bothered calling their customer service though, I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten charged.

It was WELL worth the money in my opinion. I could rent a game from then, keep it as long as it took me to beat it, and if I liked it, I'd 'keep it' and they'd send me the case a week later. Then I'd get the next game on my 'Q' list. If I didn't like it, I'd send the game back and get the next game on my 'Q'.

The only other issue I would have with them was the wait for the games to get shipped. It would take about 5-7 days before I got it. And I'm not a very patient person.. Considering when I want to play a game today, doesn't mean I want to play it in a week or so.

Overall, I give GameFly's service a 5 out of 6.

Well, I've had Gamefly for a few months now, and they are pretty good. The shipping can be a bit slow because I live on the other side of the US. All in all, its been good, had one "lost" game in the mail. Someone felt that it would be cool to take my Metal Gear Substance game as I was delivering it back to Gamefly. Kinda ticked me off, but oh well, least I wasn't charged for it. I have bought 3 games so far from Gamefly, they ship out the box's pretty quick, so I can't complain there either.

All in all, I've had a great experience with them, and will probably continue to use them.
