I could of put this in consoles too, as it is out for every system under the sun (and some that are in shadows yet), but well I have the PC version so :p

Controls - If you have played X-Men Legends 1 or 2 then you are immediately familiar with the game style and controls. 4 man teams that you make up (can name later) and a 5th is unlocked later as well. Easily switch to any of the other characters to take control and wreak havoc. Now if you have a 360 controller it works right off the bat. Personally I am using the keyboard solely and it is working out like a charm. Took me maybe 15 minutes to get it set in my head what all does what (mostly because I did a few key binding changes), but now I am just rocking.

Graphics - Absolutely gorgeous. That is really all I have to say. If you have a video card that will do the 3.0 shader (vertex and pixel) it looks even better. But do not fret, if you don't it still looks phenomenal. Levels do get a bit repetitive, but not as much as you might think.

Characters - Oh My God. It is a Marvel Fans dream come true. Here is a list of the playable characters right off the bat almost (you start with a pre-made 4-man team, but very early on can swap out the players) :

Captain America
Deadpool
Elektra
Human Torch
Iceman
Invisible Woman
Ironman
Luke Cage
Mr. Fantastic
Ms. Marvel
Spiderman
Spider-Woman
Storm
The Thing
Thor
Wolverine

Add to this that there are at least (to the best of my recollection) 5 more that you can unlock through out the game. I should note that the PSP, Xbox and Xbox360, Wii (and think the upcoming PS3) have special characters per system. As far as I have been able to tell the PC version got the shaft and only got one (PSP has 3 or 4 and Wii has two), but I may be wrong on how many per system/console.

Also a twist is there are 4 different costumes for each of the characters that aren't just for looks. Each costume does different buffs on the character. Cap for instance starts in his Ultimates costume which has a 2% XP bonus on it, where his USAgent suit does defense. They are all quite varied and really make you take a look

Another addition, like in X-Men Legends, you get points when they level to make their special powers more powerful. Don't have the points, well if you have the spare money you can also buy the points. And you aren't limited to a few powers. I think the smallest amount to choose from that I have seen so far is from Deadpool, and that is 6 different ones, Cap has like 9. But money seems like it is easy to come buy, but you can go through it pretty quick spending it on the abilities.

Missions - They actually put a pretty interesting story line in it, but it isn't going to be referenced in any of the comic series. Marvel, especially the non-ultimate universe, is pretty screwed to begin with, so this is just kind of off in it's own little corner. But don't think this takes anything away from it, it doesn't at all. They set out to make a Marvel super heroes game, and by god that is what they did.

Interaction - I bring this up because it can get just damn fun. I currently am running with Spider-Woman, Captain America, Deadpool, and Wolverine, and Deadpool (the Merc with a mouth) loves to pop out his usual sayingings, and if Wolverine is in your group he will jibe at him once in a while, and Wolvy will sling it right back. Spider-Man even has his trademark one-liners. And I am just scratching the surface so far.

Downsides - Really my only two so far is the money hunt, but it really isn't that bad, and the levels can get a tad repetitive, but you are generally so busy fighting you don't notice it as much as you might think, and honestly it brings a smile to your face too hear the characters do little one-liners (especially Deadpool and Spidey). Also I have run into some dumbing of AI in targeting, but so far it has been very minor.

I really can't say enough good about this game. It flat out kicks ass, 10x more so if you are any kind of fan of Marvel Comics. Get it, giggle with glee (as Swarfy has been while she listens to me play), and then giggle with glee more when you are taking control and dishing out damage as your favorite heroes from Marvel Comics.
