Anyone play APB? I'm looking at it and think it looks cool. Anyone have any insight?

Nevermind. I read the reviews on 1UP , and on IGN and decided against the game.
It looked so promising, but I only have money for one game, so have to be careful what I get. Usually the review sites glass over the major flaws in the game, possibly because they have some allegiance with the game developers and their interest in continuing to get free stuff outweighs their desire to give a good honest review. If anyone out there likes this game let me know why, and I may pick it up later. |

Played the beta during their Key to the City event. It was fun for the five hours they gave you to play, but the quests were so damned repetetive. It's entirely a pvp game when it comes down to it, and they did some really neat things with HOW they dole out the quests and the system to get people into pvp action. But the quests themselves always involve going to point A and hitting one key before the other guy can kill you.
The gameplay is almost entirely GTA style, which I find lacking in a pvp shooter. You can't go 1st person view, it's all 3rd. It might be really great after its been out for a while and they've patched it up and added more content. |
