So, the saga of the mysteriously malfunctioning computer continues. This morning the problems that had only been evident while gaming have moved into the realm of "while checking my email". So, I'm caving to the need to be able to work, and taking my computer back in. If for no other reason than to complain about the money I've spent, just to find that issue had not only NOT been resolved... but had escalated

The telling of this story of woe is not complete though! I called Data Doctors to speak to Eric, the guy that "fixed" my computer last time. He's not there. Neither is anyone else that worked at the store when I took my computer in. They all either quite or were fired. And the lady that answered the phone trying to assist me... couldn't... because Eric failed to leave any notes about what he did to my computer, what checks he ran, etc. Needless to say, it's shaping up to be an interesting day.

Anyway, I'm posting what I got done on the comic thus far. I'll finish it up as soon as possible. It's monkey rocking out on Guitar Hero 2, obviously. I'll save the text for when the image is complete. And, I'll keep you guys posted on the further computer woes of one webcomic that's sick and tired of dealing with computers. (That's me.)

well you could do like a guy at work did when his 3rd box crashed. He said that it made him feel better till he realised how much $$$ that went up in buitiful bits from his 45. =-) GL man. hope youll get to what ever game suits your fancie soon.

GL with the computer though. I had something similar happen with mine a while back, turned out the plate that held the motherboard in place wasn't level and was ever so slightly flexing the board and causing things to short out. After the guys I took it too fried 3 of their own mother boards they decided to change the mounting plate and everything has worked smoothly since then. Was nice because I could slide out the board and the cards with just 1 screw so I didn't have to dig in the case.

OWIE! I hope the disgruntled former Data Doc people didn't shoot your system for you...

I really hope they offer some kind of warranty on their services considering you just payed out oodles of money to get your rig fixed and it did nothing for you. I wish you the best of luck, wish there was something i could do for you threw my work but they don't operate that way :-(. GL Woody, i think you'll need it.

Well dude, sorry to hear your computer is crapping out again. Hope it gets fixed soon. Sounds very fishy though that everyone quit or was fired to be honest. Heh, we could try to rally up a call to save the computer, get everyone that likes GU to hunt down the people that 'worked' on the PC last time, I am sure it would be alot.

That is one thing I like about being semi literate when it comes to computers and fixing them. I do not have to worry about taking my computer to a "PC Doc". Then again, [an expensive] system is somethig I only drool about in my wettest of wet dreams. I also don't have near the software on mine that you aparently do on yours either.

Anyhow, best of luck to you. Hope it gets fixed. I have been following your comic since I started playing EQ1 in 2000. I can never wait until the next one comes out.
