Yes, it's a Sandman shirt. (5/4)
I went to bed last night without a joke idea. This is an exceedingly rare thing for me to do as it takes time away from the inking, coloring, etc. But, when you start nodding off at your desk, it's time to throw in the proverbial towel.
This morning I got up and started digging through the news sites again. Still nothing. And, I've been playing a game for the last few days; but, it's for an upcoming custom comic project and needed to avoid making a regular comic about it, using up my ideas. Then I remembered it was Spiderman 3 release day. Now, I don't go to the movies often, I hate crowds and sticky floors. But, when it comes to Spiderman movies, even on release day, I'm certain I'm in the minority. So, I started sketching. I didn't have any text for the comic yet, but I know I wanted to draw Ted in Spidey clothes hanging from the ceiling. As I started inking the text just kind of wrote itself. That's the way it goes here sometimes. As long as everything is on time, I'm fine with the spontaneous comics. Have fun and be safe all of those of you heading out tonight to see the premiere. |

Great comic Woody. I've been reading your stuff for years, and tired or not. You make a great comic. Keep up the good work. And some Goop Off should unstuck your friend there. <grins>

Spontanaity is a good thing, expect for in the spiderman movie
I saw the movie at last nights midnight premiere. I was entertained enough, but I was a bit dissappointed. I thing Sam Raimi's series peaked at number 2, and hope they let it rest in piece now that it's a hollywood-beloved trilogy.
A short simple why I was dissappointed: I felt rushed along by the subpar editing and harsh scene transitions. As if the movie itself didn't want me to enjoy it. |

Im with you, I hate going on launch weekends. Crowded theatres, sticky floors, and cell phones are enough for me to stay away from the theatres when a Movie opens. Im going on Monday during the day when noboidy is in the theatres then. Still have to deal with the sticky floors, but with no one in the theatre I can at least put my feet up on the chair in front of me.
![]() Speaking of sticky....never mind I dont wanna know how he got up there on the ceiling. |

Oh don't tell me that bldyrlms, I hate bad jump cuts. Takes me right out of the movie.
--- Xyanthus, I've found that even during the day the big movies near opening night are packed, especially during the summer times when parents dump their kids off at the theatres to get a few hours of freedom for themselves. So, I always go with another movie in mind. I check the number of filled seats vs. the number of seats in the theatre, if the ratio teeters too far towards full I go and see the other film. |

I still want to see it despite massive deviations from the comics. After the foul taste of Ghost Rider, I need another fix of a good Spiderman movie.

I saw it last night @ the Midnight showing as well. I enjoyed it. It wasn't the BEST Spiderman to date, but it was definitely enjoyable. Venom is badass (as he should be) despite the Topher Grace thing. The effects are understandably more impressive.
As my girlfriend said after the film ended (which may or may not be good for those who love the franchise) "That was more about the characters then action. It was like a drama almost" So if you LOVE the characters you'll LOVE the movie. If you just want non-stop glorified action this will leave you a bit disappointed. There's a good deal, but it's not over the top by any means. Side Note: The Bruce Campbell scene was by far the best of the three movies, and probably the most entertaining part of the entire flick. |

Definitely in the minority... but I couldn't help but think of a scene from "There's Something About Mary" when I read Ted's line "I'm stuck".
