Civilization IV Bonus Comics (UPDATE: Page 3 is Up)
In an effort to celebrate the biggest Civilization expansion ever (Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword), Firaxis has challenged the gaming community to create fanart/comics set in the Civ world. Additional information about the contest can be found here: Civilization Daydreams Contest.
As part of the Daydreams promotion 2K has convinced quite a few professional webcomics, myself included, to offer their take on the game. We here at GU comics will be debuting new custom Civ IV comics July 26th, August 2nd, and August 9th. You can see the kickoff comic I did to introduce the contest here: http://www.gucomics.com/daydreams/ Other participaing webcomics include 8-Bit Theater, Ctrl-Alt-Delete, Dueling Analogs, MyExtraLife and PvPOnline. Animated shorts from the creative team behind Over the Hedge will be included as well. You'll be able to find the various contributions on the creators' websites and at www.apolyton.net, www.civfanatics.com and planetcivilization.gamespy.com. The Civilization Daydreams site (linked above) will be updated weekly with the various Daydreams comics and animated shorts. Check back here on 7/26, 8/2, and 8/3 for our three page comic short. UPDATE: "Picking Your Battles" (Page 3) is up Series Finale |

Thats great, love the art styling. Civ is definately one of my favorite all time game series. My neighbor gave me Ultima 6 and Civ 1 when I got my first full PC. Between the various incarnations, I've probably spent more time playing Civ then any game other then EQ.

That comic is so true. Funny, I was playing Japan last night and kept trying to research as advanced as possible, as playing on Prince level, I can't keep up at all.

Kurtz is at ComiCon. He probably forgot to post it in a place he could easily link to. That would be a very Kurtz thing to do.

Any insights about the game itself? Cause the official site is less than forgiving in giving details. I'd love to see some stuff from Civilization: Call to Power 2 implemented, and if the box is any indication, REAL future tech is one of them.
