I can only assume that each of you have that one game in your collection that you always come back to. For me, at least for the last few years, it's been Guitar Hero. Last night during our SuperBowl party Taks' mom and a family friend (both of whom I got addicted to the game in the first place) were talking about how hearing some songs will make them think of it in terms of colored buttons. I understand; I've been there.

Now, I haven't played GH in a while. But the desire is always there. It lurks just under the surface, calling to me. I'd like to think I have my addiction under control. But I can't honestly say that I'm not still chasing the DragonForce. I'd swear I need an intervention but I'm afraid they'd forget why they were there whilst taking turns at the plastic axe.

Oh and this comic has nothing to do with Heath Ledger's recent, unfortunate, passing. The whole idea just kind of struck me while I was reading about Jim Ward leaving LucasArts. Your guess is as good as mine.

Mine seems to be either Baldur's Gate or Betrayal at Krondor.

Yeah. I'm old.

Most of the games I go back to are MMOs.. the reasons why I left them start to fade in my mind and I remember only the good things. After awhile I reinstall them and, at least in some cases, the memory of why I left will immediately return. I do this for almost every MMO I've ever played, except MxO and SWG, and EQ1.

Guitar Hero 3 has been the game where "Maybe I'll play one song before I start my homework" turns into "I've been playing for four hours!?!?"

And here I thought by the fact that Ted and the guitar were wearing cowboy hats that GH was announcing a country/bluegrass expansion.

I havent had a game that I consistantly came back to yet... Although, almost all the games in my collection I have come back to at least once, though, either to relive the fond memories I have of that game or to give the game another shot.

I'm usually extremely fickle with my games....

I'll play a game a lot for however long it takes me to beat it (or I get sick of it) and then I'll never have the desire to pick it up again. The main exceptions to this behavior are Guitar Hero (all three) and World of Warcraft.

I immediately thought of Heath Ledger after first reading the comic. So sad....

"Hey Woody, Long time reader, first time poster... love the show!".. Er anyway..

For me it's "Fallout 2". Although "Planescape: Torment" is probably a close 2nd. Way old games now, but I love going back and re-playing their stories.

Even after playing Everquest for 6 years (from beta). Coming back for the progression server just to see if I could hit 50 in couple of weeks. My wife hates me playing the game.

But I swear, from time to time, I'm so tempted just to fire up the account again and go back again.
