In Age of Conan, when you pull off particularly vicious combos or manage to land a nasty killing blow... blood goes everywhere. It splatters on the screen. Maybe not to the extent the comic implies, but it's enough to make you take notice. The first time it happened to me in-game I thought someone was beating the crap out of me, not the other way around.

I'll admit the blood effects amuse me. They're well done and I delight in the occassional decapitation after I've been killed in virtually the same spot four times in a row while I slowly thin out mobs. At any rate, this comic is a departure from a joke idea Sanct sent to me. I wanted to give him some kudos and a thanks even though I didn't really use what he wrote. (Sorry about that.)

Oh and thanks to the kind folks at Eidos as well. They sent me AoC a couple of days ago. Otherwise, I'd still be on the outside looking in, making blood splatter and nipple jokes. Psshh! Who am I kidding? I'll be making blood splater and nipple jokes anyway.

lol good comic, i like the bloodsplatters as well, been trying to prefect my timing on the combos since i got the game so that i get the maximum amount of them

particualrly ammusing in the mini pvp games, knowing there is someone else who has just watched his guy be decpitated

The fatalities in AoC are one of the nice little things in the game that differentiates it from other MMOs. No only that, but different weapons will result in different fatalities, and even magic spells will result in some. I particularly like the one where they run around on fire, screaming. Good times.

Getting decapitated is getting off easy. Wait till you chop their arms off and then decapitate them. That one almost made me feel sick. Probably the way the guy was screaming while I did it.

Yeah, the fatalities are really cool; they even give you a little buff so you can keep on rampaging.

But indeed, I thought the splatters were coming from me when I landed my first finisher on this poor pirate.

I'm really enjoying AoC, it's beautiful and it's also the first MMORPG I've actually left the music ON while playing. Normally I just have iTunes playing some thing.

While I like the fatalities, sometimes..... they get in the way. For instance, there are oh, 8 mobs beating on me and my toon some how feels the need when he kills the first one to ram his axe through the guys torso (is that even possible?), leave it there while the guy stares at it in disbelief, pound my chest, rude the guy, flip him off, rip my ax back out of his chest while kicking him over, then proceed to teabag him a good 3-4 times. Now, this is all well and good; but for the 30 seconds while I'm doing this I still have 7 mobs beating on me. :|

I do have a question though, after you decapitate someone in PvP, should you teabag the body or go looking for the head? I'm just curious what the etiquette is.

Much <3 for fatalities. When my ranger still used a mace in primary (not anymore, not with so many feat upgrades for Incapacitating Stabs available!) he'd dance a circle around the target as it collapsed to its knees, hammering away like a mad drummer.

Heh, it's cool Woody, i'll admit this is was funnier than the idea it was spawned from. Really I was just trying to get the joke across that there was a lot of blood in the game. Not a comical amount but more than what most might be used to.

Which brings us to the next question. What server might you, Woody, be on? Cause I'm sure we want to make blood and nipple jokes as well. :P
