I may be alone in my estimation. (9/10)
As you know I've been playing my mini-Rogue for a couple of weeks now. And I've long since been force to move out to the Barrens to continue leveling. **sighs** Ahhh "the same ol' content" for the 9th time.
Anyway, several times since I moved out to the Crossroads high level Alliance folks have rolled through laying waste to most of the village, usually starting with the flight path guy just to indirectly grief we low level Horde-ers. Contrary to the comic though, I don't really care. I'd rather it not happen but there's no point standing around whining about it. Really this comic is based on an incident in Orgrimmar a few days ago. I was in the bank shuffling items around when a Paladin waltzed in dragging guards and drestroyed the bankers. He was holding out against the guards too until the high level folks came down from their PvP queues and blasted him to shreds. In the time it took me to type out my opinion that "I wish there was a /poop command so I could poop on his corpse" the bankers had respawned. Now before I click the submit button here, I am going to take a minute to say... On a PVE server one side should not be allowed to grief the other side unless they opt into PVP combat. Again I don't really care about the flight path guy. But I was escorting the blood elf from Northwatch Hold, and was almost to Ratchet with him when a Dwarf ran up and attacked him. Killing my follow mob "failed" the quest for me and I just didn't have the patience to start the quest over again... it's a long walk. ____________________ Today's Pimpage: The Paladin is quoting Hackers quoting First Corinthians. |

I have to totally agree with you, Woody. We get it as Alliance at the NE 10'ish zone a lot, too. At least I've gotten to a level now where I can deal with them some. And at least they've taken care of the launch issues where folks could force your pvp flag on, even when you didn't want it. Although the snake trap killing lowbies thing is really low.
Personally I hate this level of play, and I consider it "griefing". I don't mind the folks exploring and such, but when you are killing guards for no benefit, I think it's poor. Maybe Blizz should add something to where the guards/quest givers at 50% become a skull mob and start crushing blows. |

heh, when some guys in our guild rolled horde a group of us organized an 8 man raid to go grief them. I was in TS with my guildies that were on Horde side, and Vent with the alliance guys going to grief them. I showed up and convinced my guildies to flag and fight me. Then we wiped out brill.

I too really hate it when they kill the escorted person towards the end of the escort. *sigh*

There is definitely equal griefing on both sides I've had it on my alliance and Horde Chars. And I've bypassed the barrens on My Blood elf pally entirely.

Yes, it is quite annoying. I have both Horde and Alliance characters and have seen this action by both sides. I'm guessing they really don't have anything better to do after going through Heroics for the nth time, as this sort of thing dropped off significantly when BC came out. Perhaps Blizzard should make the flight guys invulnerable. I remember in EQ they changed the town gate guards to nearly indestructible entities since people farmed them and caused many a newb death by 'a_giant_snake". Their MR was 100%, regenerated like dragons and hit for a ton, with rusty weapons I might add. The inside guards were still normal. *Whistles*
As for the guy who attacked your quest MOb, he was just an ass. MObs like that should have non-engage code written into them when a quest is involved. I enjoy the Horde side, they have more fun quests...if you count assassination, general mayhem and other "fun" topics as enjoyable. *grin* |

It's against Blizzard policy to do stuff like this, but by the time you've reported it and a GM responds you've probably already forgotten about it and moved on.
From Blizzard's Game Policy, Zone/Area disruption: "Impeding or blocking access to an NPC, doodad, doorway, or any other area of the world that a player would normally be able to access." -E |

I hated that exploit where a hunter could put down snake trap beside me and it enabled my pvp and the high level hunter would then slaughter me. This happened to my lower level alts as well as my son when he was trying to catch up to our level. I found it a bit unfair. You'd be doing a quest or afk in a town minding your own buisness next thing you know you're dead. If I wanted to be ganked by higher levels that can't handle the real challenge of their own level pvp I'd still be playing Lineage 2. Good comic! Oh and just an added comment/thought... I play both sides, I like to see the whole game from both horde and alliance advantage. Why is it when I'm on my horde doing a quest in an area with tons of the same mob around, I get some alliance person that comes over and must take the mob they clearly see me casting on? I notice this happens to me more when I play horde then when I play allaince. The other day in Zangermarsh I was waiting inside a hut for the named ogre to spawn. I'm inside the hut in the middle of the floor clearly waiting for it to respawn and in walks two alliance warlocks that stand right next to me and put thier pets on aggressive and take the mob when it spawns. Really? Though on both sides it ticks me off when I fights mobs to open up an item I need to pick up and another person swoops in to take it when I'm in mid-combat. I guess I'm too nice not doing stuff like that to others and just expect some level a decency in return. It is a game, manners can still apply. [ Posts merged as per the forum rules. ] |

I'm the kind of person that will save a person from the opposite faction, if I can. I guess I must be some kind of super care bear. I'm not big on PvP and I can't stand griefers.
Great comic! |
