I probaby deserve it. (10/29)

Sometimes I can read through gaming news for hours and find nothing worth making fun of. And then sometimes I stumble head first into enough material for several comics. That's the case this time around. But, there wasn't much for me to actually draw. So, I made the decision to let the words stand on their own. **shrugs** I embrace my oddity.

So here's what Ted and I are talking about:

Zhenghao Shen, a chinese student attending university in Australia, stabbed a "friend" in the head with a chef's knife after being asked to turn down the volume on his computer several times. Shen and four of his friends (one being the victim) were playing World of Warcraft at the time. Charged with "intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm", the 21 year old has been denied bail and is being held in custody until next month.

Commissioned by the Content Delivery and Storage Association (CDSA) and the Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA), The NPD Group, a global market research company, has conducted a study examining the package handling habits of gamers. Unintentional double entendre aside, the study polled 562 gamers that have purchased a "retail-based physical video game in the past six months". The study found that 11% of those polled owned games that they have yet to open.

Note: I do have an unopened game in my collection, it's a copy of Bully. **shrugs** Whoops.

I almost always play a game I purchase as soon as I get it home.

My problem is completing those games.

Hopefully I won't get bored with Fallout 3 as quickly as I did with Oblivion.

Sounds like my husband. The getting bored, not the stabbing.

In our defense, we have more unopened packages of DvDs piled about than unopened games. Our impulse buys always seem to be in those particular types of cases.

I've been playing more on the pc than any of my consoles lately, but i still buy games for them just so i can have them. No real reason for them: one of them has a prequel that i want to play before that, and the other i just havent been in the mood for. Chances are I'll get on them if i ever loose my internet, or god forbid, my computer just dies.

As for the stabbings....what can you do, some people just take things waay to seriously. Good thing no one was killed....or did they? Didnt read the article.

i've gotten random games as presents and i don't think i've opened a single one of them. they usually just end up sitting on the shelf until someone comes by and says "you ever gonna play that?" "nope, you want it?"... my life doesn't really involve stabbings, though.
