Crap! Social Commentary! (12/3)

Times are tough. Folks are tightening their belts. And while it seems like big business is adopting a "bail us out" mindset, little businesses are just trying to keep the doors open. So when it comes time for "The Store" to cut overhead, a wild card like Ted is in jeopardy. Don't get me wrong, he has his moments. He knows a lot about games. But he's just as likely to go off on a "DK's are not over powered" tirade as he is to talk about actual features when he's trying to move a game.

This particular comic is likely to lead to some continuity in the comic, an actual story line. Sorry about that! But, I can explain. The comic idea center of my brain seems to be on vacation and gaming news lately sucks. Soooo... I figure what the heck let's try something different. Besides I fully reserve the right to change my mind at any moment and make WoW poop jokes.

Don't worry too much about Ted by the way. He's resourceful. I'm sure he'll be fine.
Or WILL he? Stay tuned! Or some such.

Nice comic and I understand where you are coming from. Living in MI which has had the largest loss of real jobs over the last year as compared to all others and home of the BIG 3 automakers who can't seem to get their act together, we live with this constantly. Luckily I work in an industry that actually does a little better in bad times, working in a community college. We are seeing a lot of out-of-work people trying to get retrained for other employment. Probleme there is most may have to move out-of-state to get a job once retrained.

Good comic and great timing. I get to go to a job interview today to retain my current job. Twelve of us that do this job in the whole company and they are rehiring only seven of us.

Such a delightful Christmas present!

Funny comic Woody, thanks for making my day.

Ooooh...that's so sad. :-(

And hey...continuity's great when the story is good. This seems like a good lead in to some interesting Ted stuff.

Also, there is an art form to going off on video game tirades while still pushing a product. I'm pretty sure that before I left gaming retail, I had it down. :-)

Talking about Ted and Jeopardy, now THAT would be a show I wouldn't miss for the end of the world.

You said poop. hehehe......hehehe.....

Sorry, Woody, I couldn't resist the blatant Beavis & Butt-head joke.

As for Ted, well, I'm sure they can always use more folks waving signs at the corner of busy intersections. In fact, I can see Ted taking said job and then doing it in a bikini just to one up the other guys.

He needs to stand in the middle of the street divider with a cardboard sign:

"Will tank for rep"

I haven't thought about the game Overlord in so long. That was a fun game.

I think Ted has lost his evil Overlord powers. Maybe he should try using his Death Knight.

If you roll back through the Overlord glove comics, the glove never worked. Well, except when Brad (Ted's Boss) used it to make Ted clean the store.
