Wait... Did someone ask? (12/24)
There's no news behind this comic other than your basic Sims pre-hype. This was just an excuse for me to pan Sims 3 and Spore in the same go. Spore moved from one game type to the next as your creature evolved. If Will Wright actually had any say in it, maybe Sims 3 would have a similar kind of direction.
I figured Worms: Armeggedon would be the perfect end to the game when your Sim dies. But, any biologist worth his/her salt will tell you that the process of decay is just like playing Abadox. |

I still would have liked to see a Sims Online, and not the Wii cut down version that you can play.

I believe they already had a Sims Online a while ago that cost about 10-15 bucks a month to play . . . wasn't that great in beta, but had potential. Essentially it turned into gaming the system for Simoleans. If you ask me they need to get to the point of the Sims 3 where there isn't just lots and everything is connected before they attempt to bring it online again. Certain neighborhoods could have home owner associations as well in order to prevent this odd rainbow of houses popping up. Those things suck in real life, but would be great in the online world. They would also need to have NPCs. Any online game worth it to play has to have NPCs. Quests too, that would be interesting . . . Go to the store and pick up this grocery list, beware of the feral mothers and the chaotic children . . .
Whoa, I think I got a little too obsessed with the idea right there . . . I hope wil wright steals it, cause that would be an awesome game . . . |

Will Wright's credibility: lost?
Come to think of it, The Sims would be a decent stage between the Civilization and Space stages in Spore. Then again, just about anything you could imagine would be a stage in Spore somewhere. |

Long gone are the days of name developers (Will Wright, Sid Mier, Richard Garriott, Roberta Williams, etc.) games actually having clout because of their name.
I miss the good old days of gaming. |

As a member of the target demographic for The Sims franchise EA had no trouble sucking my dry over the first 2 games, but The sims 3 just doesn't cut it. While the ability to make furniture always match and have total control over a sims clothing and personality is great, I don't want better graphics (I'd need to get a better graphics card) and my processor won't be able to cope with running a whole neighbourhood at once, (with the issue of what exactly happens to my other sims not even taken into account).
So I won't be buying it, not even when I upgrade my computer. I can have more fun with Oblivion, espceially now I've mastered the house building tutorials for the construction set all I need is the aforementioned upgrade. In the mean time I shall try to get around to finishing Morrowind... (and getting at least one of my 20 or so WoW toons to Northrend >.<) And I quite liked Spore, each game type, I mean stage, is based on a game/genre I own. Obviously I can't share my creations but still it's a game I won't be removing from my hard drive anytime soon. |

No part of my commentary comes anywhere close to saying Worms is a bad game.
Before modern caskets, buried bodies would eventually be exposed to underground critters at one point or another. Thus the term "worm food". Which is what my comment is referencing. |
