And Plethora comes through again. (1/14)
I've been working really hard on the Artist for Sale! stuff and a rather large non-GU art project. This has kept me from really being able to play any games. There's just not enough time in the day. The script for today's comic was taken wholesale from the last time I got to log in for more than 15-20 minutes.
The the folks I hang out with in game are funny. Unfortunately most of what makes me laugh is so situational I can't really use it. Well, that or it's so foul mouthed or taboo that it's not really appropriate for a "PG-13" website. One of these days I'll give up on that notion and just post what I want. We'll see how it goes. Oh and I guess this is the first time I've shown Grek in his new gear. It sucks and is all made by me but hey, it's better than what I had. Fun to draw though. |

Funny looking indeed, but is it just me, or does all armor in northrend look pretty much the same ?

Same way pretty much all the armor in BC looked the same, I guess. I honestly haven't paid much attention.

In my experiences, all of the TBC armor was rainbow colored mess, but there was variety... in WOTLK, all the armor is exactly the same model (some very small variations) but with color alterations.
I even read a blue post that said something like (paraphrased): Sometimes its hard to please everyone. Pretty much everyone complained about the rainbow armor in Burning Crusade, and now we have armor that doesn't do that and everyone is complaining that it's all the same. |

Speaking of left over chinese....
How do you make the rice anything other than cardboard? Kinda like cold fried chicken I guess, cold General Tso's Chicken is actually pretty good, but I can never get the left over rice to be worth a darn. |

And yes, the armor all looks the same. Plate from a Nexus run? Spikey. Plate from various quest rewards? Spikey. Plate from Violet Hold normal? Spikey. Plate from Halls of Lightning normal? Yeah. Spikey. Plate you craft yourself for pvp? Spikey. Plate you craft yourself for tanking? Spikey. Plate from Halls of Lightning Heroic? Spikey. Plate from the last instances in the game at the moment? Spikey. Repetetive post? Definitely. Unfortunately it's the truth of the thing, they're ALL the same model. It's even more repetive and disappointing in game. The textures aren't even varied that much. One's a slight blue, one's a slight red, and one's a slight gold / greenish color. Not to be TOO rantish, but I'm fairly sure you could tweak your photoshop hue slider and get similar results. It's a crying shame, and other armor types are no better variety wise. I'm not even sure that casting plate for paladins is a different model. On the bright side, you'll generally match. Once you finally get your Tier pieces then you get new gear looks. The upshot there is that they generally look pretty darned spiffy/glowy. |

Yeah...the new armor all pretty much looks the same (Short of the new PvP/Raid Epics), but I'd rather have a matching set of awesome looking armor than....the Mis-Matched-Beaver-Belt look that the green/mid-60's dungeon blues gave you.
The only thing I really enjoy for reheated Chinese is some variation on the Generals Chicken (IE: Sesame/Orange Chicken and the like), Crab Rangoons and White/Fried Rice. Adding Water to the rice, as Woody stated, does wonders to avoid the cardboard texture. |

And now for something completely different: I agree with the armor. I was so happy to get a new healing plate helm from Naxx then I put it on...SAME as the DK starter helm! Whaaaaaat? It's ok since I don't display my helm anyways (I like to risk head injuries!). Cheers, SirRolf |

Does the water on rice actually work well? I thought of it, but assumed it would be too soggy or something, so I haven't tried it myself yet. That aside, I loooove leftover sweet and sour chicken smothered in the sauce.
As for armor looking the same, I recall a post, by a GM (Zarhym, Bornakk, or Drysc (can't remember)), that I read awhile ago. He stated that the majority of players were upset with the clown-style combinations that people got from equipping Outland quest rewards. To avoid this again, they gave everything the dark, gothic look so that equipment wouldn't look so silly. Personally, I never noticed a clown effect. I fear the Emerald Dream addition/expansion, because that means it'll be leafy Teldrassil-style equipment all over again. Anywho, good comic, Woody. |
